Session timeout and read / unread threads are also two separate issues. The whole read / unread thing is problematic in phpBB simply by design. Other forums can put that data in the database. I regularly have threads I've read refusing to mark themselves as being read.
Hm, that sucks. Is it fixable with a forum upgrade or some of your coding magic? I spend a vast majority of my internets-time on these boards, and it's bugging the hell out of me.

Ignoring it for a while until it becomes an issue, then slamming it down with a casual reply earns more internet points.
Fair enough, but it's Codex Cool Credits, dammit.

Theoretically I could solve all the problems with coding magic but a forum upgrade (and updating all the code that runs the site along with it) would be easier than that. At the moment though, neither Calis nor I have the inclination to start that process (which would probably maybe take a good month or three if we wanted to do it properly).
