At the time Quake 1 came out, my computer couldn't really handle it and by the time I had a better one, Q2 had come out.

A few days ago I installed ezquake and it's pretty entertaining

What are some decent single player mods to try?

Damn, I remember making levels for Quake 1. I gave up after my elaborate designs resulted in half the level "greying out" and disappearing because the game's engine couldn't handle my grand designs.

Playing through Q1 singleplayer using team fortress classes is pretty lulzy.

You can also play Q2 as the Q1 guy with Q2 generations (also the Doom and Wolfenstien guys).

Alright I'll check it out.

I am annoyed by how my character slides around though. How do I make the movement more precise? Also, what is the air control variable? I've gone through the ezquake manual but I can't find these.
