I thought it was excellent. Cool and varied text quests, interesting though potentially tedious RTS element, decent ship combat, cool weapons, ships and components, sense of achievement when freeing a system, etc.
Would have liked if they'd done something with the difficulty element though. To me it's either way too hard or too easy. That is, at the hardest Dominator difficulty they'll take over the galaxy before you can afford/find ships and components good enough to take them down, and at the regular 'hard' difficulty it becomes a cakewalk as soon as you get the ships and components. There's not really anything in between.
