When someone talks about "Technomancer", I imagine a guy with hordes of robots, electric powers, gravity manipulation, space based magic, high fantasy & high magic at the same time and so on. The fact that in the game's universe the lightning powers are from a mutation and not supernatural powers could make it quite interesting. My greatest problem with the technomany in "the technomancer" is that you can only use "technomancy" to control machinery during .... Cutscenes.

Yes, ZERO skills about creating drones, ZERO skills about creating EMP fields to disturb enemy tech, ZERO skills about trying to manipulate the energy flow, can you guys think how much electricity manipulation superpowers would be overpowered in a high TECH world? Instead of fearing enslavement, they would be enslaving everyone else. Technomancers would be able to be in the top of that society pyramid with no problem. They could easily become the monopoly in tech and energy in any high tech society.

That is really sad because in a universe where mutants can produce very strong electricity bolts, enough electricity to break the electrical resistance of the air, certain weapons like Railgun and Plasma based guns which aren't viable due the necessity of a huge energy source, this game lacks this types of weapons. You have only firearms in the game and they overheat after few shots. You have bastons, maces, swords but only pistols as firearms.

The game is "set" in MARS but doesn't fell like MARS. The gravity of the game world is the same of the EARTH's gravity. The unique difference from Earth is that the game is set in a Frozen wasteland where the sunlight is quite deadly and mutants are enslaved(this is why Technomancers hide the origin of their powers).

I played a bit the game, really liked the aesthetics and story but honestly, the "technomancy" of the game is really bad. So I wanna ask. Any game which implemented technomancy in a better way?
