Worthplaying have some new screens up for Two Worlds: Epic (yes, epic) Edition.

“Two Worlds has seen unprecedented popularity, not only upon its original release, but in the months since it has gained even more fans,” said Melanie Mroz, CEO of SouthPeak Games. “Epic Edition collects everything available for the world of Antaloor into one package so those who have yet to explore its rich and vibrant lands can now do so in its entirety.”

Two Worlds: Epic Edition will contain the original game and the add-ons “Tainted Blood” and “Curse of Souls”, putting the massive world of Antaloor and countless hours of adventuring into one tremendous package. The original Two Worlds gave players a huge world and hundreds of adventures to undertake. The expanded content of Epic Edition adds over 70 online quests, eight new multiplayer maps, an innovative player-versus-player challenge where opponents battle to control magical orbs within a variety of arenas, and introduces the town of Tharnburg where players can train their warriors in various skills and challenge other players to combat in the Gladiator District’s huge arena.

Two Worlds: Epic Edition, rated M for Mature, will be available in August 2008 for $19.99.

So those who haven't bought the original should probably hold out for this version... or just not buy the game at all I suppose.

Are they seriously saying that TW has become the most popular game ever, or do they simply not know what unprecedented means?

Please don't use the TW acronym when speaking about Two Worlds. It's reserved for The Witcher.

Though the sentence would apply to both, neither are that popular. Though The Witcher would be the more popular of the two I assume.

Two Worlds is ok for a hack/slash. Just as long as you understand that when you play it, you'll be fine.

DON'T expect a proper RPG.

Dis gaem is so epic. Now it will be even more epic then before. I just can't stand so much epicness, it's too much

I did and maybe that's why I enjoyed it so much. It was just a bit too unbalanced, that was the only thing that I found disturbing about the game and supposedly the patches fixed that.

Two Worlds was entertaining, and somehow I liked the PC's voice acting (even though the 'ye olde' language was silly at best)

Hmmm Two Worlds...I never thought of giving this a shot. But Epic version for 20 bucks? Why the hell not, I'm tired of Mass Effect already.

The game has pretty weak combat... While the loot is okayish, fighting is just a clickfest against dumb AI. Showing only the combat on every screenshot is not a good recommendation imo.
Neverthless 2W is a nice looking medicore+ slasher. I had more fun with it than with IWD (which I dumped after one evening). No idea what was fixed in "epic" though, could be a somewhat better game overall.

I really think you should give IWD another try. Maybe it just isn't your kind of thing, but that game can easily be recommended over any other hack/slash game. I still remember the commercial for IWD:
"It would be a pity if you spend your $ on upcomming Diablo 2"

And I so agree.

Hmm IWD was one of those games you either want to win or don't play. There was very little motivation presented to your character in game other than 'we got nothing else to do anyway'

So I went into the game wanting to build 'a great party' and proceed to power game a lot just to have some fun. I couldn't muster the effort in IWD2 though, cause they employed too much dialogue checks and tons of redundant skills that I didn't want to bother study. (It's a game ffs, not a test paper)

IWD was fun at the beginning, even though there was way too much combat for my taste. But after entering that endless dungeon it became unplayable. I just really don't like long dungeons.
Heh, it was the reason I stopped playing Ultima Underworld around the middle, though it was a great game.

I guess it's unprecedented because no other game has sold exactly 275436 PC copies and 97490 seXboX copies by July 14th, 2008.

IWD2 is only dialog filled in the beggining. Later it just turns pretty much into the same hack/slash adventure as IWD1. I also didn't find skills redundant. There was sure alot of them, but that is the price you have to pay if you want to play a game that allows you to create characters with a huge variety of skills. I actually liked it, because everything was useful in some way. The least useful skill I found was the tracking skill, but even that would give you a pretty good idea what enemies you can expect, so you could prepare yourself ahead.

And Suchy, I really don't remember any huge dungeons. Baldur's Gate had huge dungeons, but IWD did not as far as I remember.

Well... I remember hacking hundreds of goblins in some village at the beginning - it was even fun
Then hundreds of zombies in sume dungeon - it was: duh when will the crap end?
Then hundreds of lizardmen in some other dungeon (or the same but n-levels lower, don't really remember) - that's when I ended the crap.
BG1 had a few dungeons but they were relatively small.
BG2 however had the Underdark and it was the shittiest part of game.
