One word - Oblivion. Only worse if it's actually possible. Search around a bit. There should be a thread for it.

Im thinking its not worth a purchase so I will probably not buy it.

I did hear it was fun to explore around in the game though, which I do enjoy.

For those who have played it, if the US version ships relatively bug free would the game still not be worth the purchase?

I know its real time combat, and FPS style, but if there is at least some fun exploration and a little bit of Role Playing I might consider it.

It's an "Exploration Game". You waste tens, hundreds of hours travelling within the game, masturbating with graphical appreciation, where quests and all that other shit are shitty bonus content.

Hmm, starting to sound like a game to wait for the 10$ bargain bin......

Im going to see how the reviews look for the US version and decide based on that....That is if the things im looking for are in the game not whether the review sites review it well since I dont really rely on game reviews as much anymore due to bias and hype.

Does their website still contain kung-fu knight or was he cut from the final version?

Two Worlds is a terrible game. I had the fun of "completing" the game by accident in the village near the start.

I played Ascension To The Throne and it was a pretty fun, short game. I think it was a kraut game.

...

two worlds is roughly the same shit as oblivion, slightly better in some parts, slightly worse in others.
i had some fun for around 10-15 hours from a pure hack n slash point of view but it was never really great and after those 10-15 hours it just got incredibly boring.

the story/dialogue is totally lackluster, the quests are not worth mentioning, the world i think is a bit better then oblivions (but not that much) in terms of variety.

despite broken promises, there s almost nothing in terms of choices and consequences or good roleplaying in two worlds, its only merit is that as a hack n slash its a little more interesting then oblivion (but once you played 10+ hours it gets old fast too)

wouldnt recommend buying it, atleast not for full price. if you check it out before buying, make sure you dont get your hopes up just because of the first few hours in the games where it really doesnt look that bad. just play a few more hours and you ll probably quit aswell (and didnt waste money)

You do know that the developers are up to patch 1.4 by now, don't you ? And the game's been out what - about ½ a half or so ?? That's even better than Oblivion's patching :)

Also, please try to remember that nowhere in any prevews (that I can recall) did the Polish! developers of this game try to hide the truth about this game, that is basically was some sort of Oblivion clone.

And the latest patch does of the problem when you suddenly finish the game...

Just because it looks like Oblivion, doesn't mean it plays like Oblivon, at least, not in all aspects of the game...

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Actually it plays more like Morrowind with a bit better combat [still quite crappy] and a less creative world. The exploration aspect is very Morrowindy.

From the site, it looks like they're still patching it, but it also sounded like it really needed patching or more to the point more time baking in the oven as it were.

It would also appear that they have intentions of adding additional content in further patches, although one could say the same about G3 and PB...

Beyond that, as I alluded to in the first thread on this game, it looks and sounds like a first/third person* diablo to me without the randomized dungeons, etc. Been there, done that, saw the movie, and got the t-shirt and well, I think that I've got enough of those to last for a while ATM.

* Combat appears to be 3rd person only

I think I am going to pass on this game.

I have yet to play a first person RPG with real time combat that I really liked. I guess the best so far that I played was probably Morrowind, but that still was not great. Im just not sure first person with real time combat will do it for me.

I have bought pretty much all the titles over the last few years and Im just tired of spending 50$ for a game with good graphics that gets boring after about 10 hours and then I never play again.

Don't get me wrong. It appears that the game is entirely designed around the 3rd person perpesctive, much like the Gothics, although, also like the Gothics, the player can also use a first person mode while exploring/interacting. Combat forces the game back to a third person view from what I've read(not all were ahppy about that), and I've got no idea about the rest as I pretty much lost interest in it after trawling through the forums a few times unless they actually do release their mod kit and some poor soul(s) actually make some mods worth bothering with. (Or if the devs release some other nifty things in one of their upcoming patches, assuming that they survive that long.)

once you got the hang out of it you are basically immune to melee combat in two worlds. lots of people bitched about bears beeing a pain in the ass one-hitting everyone at low levels but unless you are unable to find the Q key on your keyboard (for backstep/dodge) you can basically kill them (and any other melee npc) at lvl 1 - it just might take hours given their high hp vs your low damage.

every enemies have an attack animation which is pretty slow and leaves you more then enough time to press the Q key, then move forward, attack a few times (LMB)... repeat till enemy is dead. also works wonderfull vs groups of people, unless its more than 6 to 1 in their favour.

it would actually be cool (for an action rpg) if enemies would use different attack animations requiring different dodging tactics (i think the witcher is going in that direction from what it reads like, not sure though), but they dont in two worlds.
even on hardest difficulty the game is easy as pie once you discovered the Q button.
it doesnt require good reflexes either, there s plenty enough time between the start of the attack animation and the actual hit on you. i think even 50+ year olds should have no problems.

i used to say two worlds combat > oblivions but i freely admit at beeing wrong there now that i played oblivion shortly ago again(tried some mods, shame there s no mods that give me an interesting setting yet....).... while oblivion has shitty combat too, its actually a bit better than two worlds because the enemies arent that fucking slow in attacking and coupled with a mod that does away with levelscaling (like OOO) you get some challenging combat.

i didnt fool around with casters much, but my char later on got a necromany spell that basically put an enemy on hold for a long time. after that i could basically kill 10 enemies at once, just run around casting till all 10 are grounded and then kill them one by one.

i have the simple feeling the devs of that game have no fucking clue what balance is and would recommend them (and bethesda too) to play World of Warcraft and see how combat can be done A LOT more interesting and better.
the story, dialogue, npcs etc are beyond repair anyhow, but if we get hack n slashers might as well make them good hack n slashers.

1. Since when Russians are reffered as krauts?
2. It's indeed fun, but I would not call battles 'large scale' or even 'tactical'.
Usually it's like "You get ripped to shreds" or "You rip everyone to shreds".
However, a few times you are presented with some challenges that remedy that... and even kinda repeative battles are rather fun, for some reason.
Oh, one word of advice - don't bother making a 'warrior' character. Unless it's fixed in a patch or something, they suck in comparison to mages, big time.

That was about AttT, of course, not Two crappy worlds.
