UGO has previewed J.E. Sawyer and John Romero's upcoming action RPG with impressions on the game. Along with the review are some newly released screenshots.

Romero and Sawyer have plenty in store for the game, as you can use different weapons and multiple attacks to hit several enemies at once. The Elf and Wizard both used ranged attacks and magic, and the Wizard has some very impressive offensive capabilities with his spells. In this respect it seems that there is a change in how the Warrior and Valkyrie work, as in the past games every character used a lot of ranged attacks to kill with; here, they'll stick mostly to melee combat.

It looks like there will be some actual differences between the characters this time around.

I remember loving Ranarama. That was a great gauntlet style game.
