Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines unofficial patch 2.0
---------------------------------------------------------

This is an unofficial patch for Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines
by Troika Games. It is build upon Dan Upright's great unofficial oma
patches and is only intended for the english versions of Bloodlines!

To install it extract this archive into your game folder keeping the
directory structure intact and backup any files being overwritten if
you want to remove it later.

This patch attempts to fix many bugs and improve other things but no
guarantees are made, since not everything could be tested. It can be
installed easily on top of the official 1.2 patch from Troika Games.

Confirmations of fixes marked with a "*" would be nice, also reports
of any other problems, glitches and non-crashing bugs that have been
missed up until now.

Tips and Tricks:
----------------
When using the console, be sure to activate it from the menu only.
To reinstall clean up registry, folders and vtmb.ini in /Windows.
If you can't read papers re-bind "use" away from the mousebuttons.
WMP may change sound files and prevent them from playing in VTMB.
Some feed victims stay in trance so don't bite quest related ones.
Blood Shield stays on until exhausted or removed, this is no bug.
If a container auto-closes right-click the objects to choose them.
Have four inventory slots free when getting Imalia's Tawni quest.
If the Skyeline apartment's elevator won't work use vents instead.
In Ming's temple do really move the bar instead of just using it.

Not done (help needed):
-----------------------
"Skip intro" and special fonts only work at resolutions > 800x600.
The news report a bloodbath even if you just sneak-killed Johnny.
Sometimes Beckett stays in his animal form when first meeting him.
Game may hang on Beckett's "wait" cutscene, reload or use sewers.
Occasionally mailboxes do not receive rewards or objects drop out.
Female and male Gangrel show different stances in the background.
During some cutscenes your character will look and move strangely.
At Confession third person view zooms in when being on the cross.
Sometimes the game will crash on entering the pawnshop, try later.
Occult hacking and lockpicking models are not centered in window.

Actually, the clerk was bisexual all along. He just came out of the closet.

anyone know how significant the differences between text and speech were originally? Is it a significant change? The grammar stuff has me wondering as well, does cletus the yokel have poor grammar for a reason? I guess I'm going to whinge as long as this guy keeps fixing bugs and insisting on forcing his content revisions with them. I still haven't played the game and hate choosing between the buggier or edited version.

Play the game with the official patch (1.2) first, then - if you like - go with the unofficial 2.x

Patch 1.2 is not enough to fix some glaring bugs though.

The game doesn't seem worth playing at version 1.2. Still unsure about the fan made patches.

I'd guess any dialog changes are to make them fit with the recorded dialog, so I doubt anything really major has changed.

Quick question. I havent bothered playing this game yet, just tested it briefly. Anyways- do you find the PCs movements "sluggish"? Like you tap the A-key for going left and the guy keeps running forward, then sidesteps after a second.

Not for me. Bloodlines runs smoothly and my character runs and sidesteps where I want him to run and sidestep. He have major problems with hitting enemies in melee combat, however. That's what's sluggish about the game.

I had problems like this. Sometimes the PC stopped responding to the controls and kept running forward for a little while. Don't know what was causing it, maybe it's fixed by the fan patch. Might be something like an incompatibility with some hardware.

I had similar sorts of issues using only the 1.2 official patch.
