vault dweller guy is kind of pathetic with his comments about the news. subjectivity = problem when this is meant to be a RPG NEWS site.' On one account, you criticize oblivion with illogic hatred, and i can't say you are wrong on all accounts; but in the previous news you get some GENERIC information about Gothic3 and you exclaim with enthusiasm: "this sounds like very, VERY cool." I've been reading the forums here for a while now but your more and more BIASED nature tends to make me wanna vomit. It seems that you hate oblivion not because of the game itself... but because of all the moronic fanboys. I visited from time to time the official forums an i got really fed up: Whenever someone started a kind of debate about a negative aspect of the game, the retards over there went on ranting about "LOL DONT WORRY THE DEVS KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING.... i'm gonna be over here sucking Pete's cock if you need me." I guess that i expected to find more educated discussions in here. And all that <forced> hatred towards oblivion kind of makes you sound like the group you hate -> "ooo, unique elements....gothic 3.... sounds very, VERY COOL. OMG LOL OBLIVION SUX"

p.s. don't ban me :D

Well, first off, I don't think that he could be said to be a press agent.

This site just points out news articles, and then editorializes...so, I don't know what you are complaining about.

I don't agree with everything he says but at least he is logical and fairly consistent in his beliefs, whereas most of the obliviados seem somehow incapable of grasping that the things being hyped so much are pickaninny red herrings, or why people might feel the other changes are basically gutting out all of what might be considered good about morrowind, which is basically just the crumbs of what was good in daggerfall in the first place.

Hahahahah! This thread reminds me of Rex's "I'm calling you out!" thread. This is gold.

Anyways, VD just hates the attitude of Bethesda when presenting Oblivion. They make stupid shit sound like the best aspect any game can have.

I'm sure the Gothic 3 people will say some annoying crap and he'll post about that too.

PatrickTheLlamaGod, on the other hand, is a total Gothic 3 fanboy and should be burned alive for being such a fag.

well, the first page just looks ridiculous with the "we hate oblivion/ we love gothic 3" thing. what i appreciated first-hand at this site was dweller's strong beliefs.... but it seems that subjectivity is getting the best of him. it is not about his anti-oblivionism exclusively, it is about his struggle to make oblivion look bad by acclaiming other games (of which he knows little about)

What else is there to talk about? His criticisms in general are usually more for the rabid and stupid articles themselves than the game.

There are also like 3 games coming out, like, ever, for all time. So he is just going with the trend as to what he is covering.

He don't hate Oblivion. He don't like some things about that game. Sometimes i don't agree with him, but he have good points, and i really like the way he talk about games, hehe.

You only read the news page? or have you read the conments about the news?. He is ironic, yes, but he can say that he like something about Oblivion. Some stupid fanboys from the Bethesda forums can't say they don't like someghing about the game. They only say good things about it, and when someone don't like something he is a whinner, or they say that Bethesda have a good reason to do it the way they do it.

yes, that too, but he's getting carried away....

english being my second language and all, people seem to misunderstand me. just look at the comments of the news on the main page. i'm sure dweller's not a gothic3 fanboy and his comment (very, very cool...etc) is just the fruit of his hatred towards oblivion. he was getting sick and tired about all the oblivion news, but why praise gothic 3 from that vague description just to diss oblivion?

He say that because Gothic is getting better with every new game. TES games, in the other hand... mm, less skills for example. That is not a good thing. If a skill don't work, why to take it out of the game?, it is better to try to fix it. no?.

yes, gothic did get better with every game. not with much, but it did. but you can't compare the two games. if you want to, we can try: you sait that the last tes game had less skills, which is bad. but compare morrowind's skill system to gothic's. and you said that less skills are not a good thing.....

Yes, less skills is not good. Think a litle. If game A1 have 100 skills, and the new chapter, A2, have 50 skills, that is bad. If the game B1 have 5 skills, and the new chapter, B2, have 25 skills, that is really good, they are in the good way. But of course, 50 skills are better than 25 skills, but we are not comparing the two games. We are talking about each game, and about the way they evolve..

What he VD likes (and i can understand him), is that Pyranha Bytes is going in the good way.

Nobody's perfect.

I don't hate Oblivion. Really.

... but in the previous news you get some GENERIC information about Gothic3 and you exclaim with enthusiasm: "this sounds like very, VERY cool."
Generic? No. Those comments were about role-playing mechanics. Here is an example of a generic comment: soil erosion! Here is an example of a very specific comment: you can make choices, but the consequences are going to bite you in the ass. That's all I really need to know about an RPG: does it have ass-biting consequences for my choices?

I've been reading the forums here for a while now but your more and more BIASED nature tends to make me wanna vomit.
Be my guest, it's on the house.

it is about his struggle to make oblivion look bad by acclaiming other games (of which he knows little about)
Struggle? What struggle? All I gotta do is post some Bethesda quotes to make it look bad. As for my comments on Gothic 3, here is what I posted in that news thread:

"The first two Gothic games are adventure games with some RPG elements. However, the trend points at developing the RPG aspects more. The interview shows that G3 would feature very strong RPG elements, the ones we always praise at the Codex: distinctive choices & consequences. That should explain my reaction.

Let's review my news post:

1. More skills, combination of skills, better character system
2. Radically different choices, you can side with the Orcs or the humans, consequences of those choices
3. More consequences, quests are not isolated, but are a part of a larger scenario
4. Multiple solutions

Any game that has those features is a good game in my book regardless of combat, view, graphics, etc. That's what role-playing is all about.
...
I look at the track record. I see a steady improvement from G1 to G2, doing more with every game, moving away from the console market, betting on the PC fans who made the franchise successful, and a strong anti-dumbing down position. Fuck, that's like the opposite of Bethesda. That's why I believe the Gothic guys, and doubt the "trust us, it will be cool" Bethesda's position.

Does that explain my position?"

If we look we could find VD complaining about Gothic ... heck he done it recently over character generation system of Gothic 2 (A.K.A. playing as the nameless hero ... again).

I said many times that I wasn't crazy about Gothic 1&2, but I really liked what I heard about Gothic 3.

When you stalk other people and they return the favor, you can hardly complain.

As for real stalkers, no you don't. It is really annoying after the 200th time they have tracked you down on the interweb.
