What 2025 game(s) are you looking forward to?

This morning, I was thinking about what promising games I can look forward to for the rest of this year. Sadly, nothing comes to my mind, so I'll rely on the collective codex intelligence. So, what game are you looking forward to? It doesn't matter whether it's an RPG or not as long as it has 2025 as release date. Early access doesn't count!

  • Pirate in Hawaii looks wild. I've missed that type of OTT, off-the wall Saints Row action, and we get that with at-sea pirate fights too, so bonus.
  • Love what they're doing with Shinobi: Art of Vengeance. I'm a big Streets of Rage 4 fan and Shinobi looks to be getting the same treatment.
  • The Necromancer's Tale looks to have some potential.
  • AI Limit looks like a nice cross between Dark Souls and Stellar Blade
  • I've never played the Suikoden games, so have an eye on the re-releases

Monster hunter wilds maybe, if I find a friend to play by the time it releases.

New elden ring DLC.

Can't really think of anything else...

  • Free Stars: Children of Infinity (sequel to Ur Quan Masters, which is open source Star Control 2)
  • Capital Command (3d space combat sim, supposedly "realistic")
  • Burden of Command (ww2 tactical rpg)
  • Fragile Existense (scifi strategy, which takes place both in planets and in space)
  • Mars Tactics (strategy on map and turn based tactics in local places)
  • Strategos (total war battles without the turn based campaign map aspect)
  • Neverlooted Dungeon (immersive-sim dungeon crawler)
  • Parkside: Decayed Soul Manipulation (immersive sim a little less ugly than Cruelty Squad)
  • Exekiller (post apocalyptic western FPS)
  • Streets of Rogue 2 (open world top down immersive sim, first game was very good and level based)
  • 2025 Incline List games I didn't list

I have high hopes for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. But to be honest I don't think anything released this year will be better than Suikoden remasters.

Oh shit, they're actually adding voice acting. Isn't this a really text heavy game? Seems sus.

Most likely, it'll be partial like in their modern entries. For Daybreak Steam also has "fully voiced" which in reality is not, there's many silent dialogs and the weirdest ones where one character has VOs and their counterpart only has text

Wow, "Shinobi: Art of Vengeance" looks great. Shinobi 3 is one of my favourite Mega Drive games. Fingers crossed that this will turn out well.

That one porn RPG about vampires but it probably won't run on my 10 years old 2GB vram Thinkpad anyway.
Oh, don’t worry—by the time he stops procrastinating and starts coding, you’ll have plenty more years to upgrade before release. No need to even name the author or the game; everyone knows what I’m talking about.

Yeah, I'm well impressed they had the balls to stay 2D.

Some of the recommendations in this thread are really making me realize just how much the AAA-normie market is killing games. Stuff like Free Stars: Children of Infinity and Exekiller look right up my street, but such games don't get anywhere near enough the exposure it deserves.

I'm expecting TES VI in 2025. Bethesda needs to improve their reputation after MEH Starfield...
Eternal Strands is out already. So no need to look forward. All I need to do ask that nice person with a parrot.
Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon might release this year.
NEBULOUS: Fleet Command might eventually release. (Well it's rather gamistic and not really hard physic or real space combat.)

Considering that Starfield released in September 2023, Bethesda won't manage to release their next game before CDPR completes The Witcher IV (Cyberpunk 2077 released in December 2020), much less in 2025.
