I wouldn't call this a rape. They're not even pretending that this is the same Ultima from the 80's and 90's. It's just a ... thing.
Well, judging how the reactions were with the leaked DS artwork, it takes no genious to guess what's gonna happen. But hey, yes, it's a "thing" alright.

It's hard for me to find the words. I feel like I'm watching my childhood being roughly manhandled.
Ok, I'll try to NOT be dramatic over this, but EA has ruined the Ultima series enough. Now it seems as if it's about to sick it's Bioware subsidiary on it. The art looks wrong... almost like a World of Warcraft approach with airships and oversized armor. The drawn map doesn't look quite right, either. Is that supposed to be the Isle of the Avatar right under where Britain would be? Shouldn't it be more east? Wouldn't Pirate's Cove be closer to Britain than the Isle of the Avatar?
I suppose we'll have more to dread as time goes along. I hate being negative so early on, but I really can't see how this is a good development.

Even if they did have the rights, would things be any different? Lady British will probably be a bisexual love interest who is a fiercely independent woman that doesn't need a man, which is why she rebuffed all of her suitors, who couldn't handle such a strong woman anyways. She might be cold on the outside, but deep down she's really vulnerable and only the PC can help her deal with the death of her father, Lord British, the only person that ever cared about her. Since he died, she's never been able to trust anyone... until now.
