Gods, one of the favourite games of my childhood. But the new graphics and music don't impress me. The new sprites look cartoonish, and where is the main theme?!

Not expecting much from this.

Age of Fear is a long-running series of fantasy turn-based strategy games. Loved by fans for its tabletop wargame battle system and in-depth RPG customization, Age of Fear: The Free World serves as an introduction to the series' tried-and-true gameplay, focusing on nonlinear exploration and combat in an Open World style rather than the story-driven campaigns at the core of previous entries. Choose your faction, build a unique army and embark on countless exciting quests awaiting you throughout the realm!

FEATURE LIST
  • NECROMANCER, HUMAN OR ORC - play as the Undead Legion, the Human Kingdom or the Horde, with each faction featuring unique units and mechanics!
  • HEX-FREE BATTLES - test your tactics with a novel movement system where units aren't constrained by artificial grids and size matters!
  • OPEN WORLD - endlessly explore the realm and encounter numerous events that fire on the world map à la Battle Brothers!
  • DEEP BATTLE MECHANICS - learn the basics in a hurry, then master a huge variety of available units, skills and spells!
  • RICH PARTY BUILDING - bribe, enslave, recruit or resurrect any unit that catches your eye, but be weary of mixed group morale penalties!
  • PERMANENT DEATH - accept the grim realities of death where all units that fall in battle stay dead... unless an evil Necromancer raises them as Zombies!
  • ARTEFACTS AND RELICS - discover over 300 unique weapons, armours, potions and treasures, with the rarest granting powerful skills and stat bonuses!
  • LOW HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS - run the the game even on that old potato laptop of yours!
The list above is by no means exhaustive and there are a bunch of exciting developments in store. Get a taste for what the Age of Fear series has to offer, play Age of Fear: The Free World today!

It's already available on itch: https://lsliwko.itch.io/age-of-fear-the-free-world

Yeah, what was that shitty music in the remake? Horrible.

To wash your eyes clean from any lasting images of that abomination, here's the cover for the orignal by no one else than Biz.

The Murder Mystery Machine, procedurally generated murder mystery game:

The Murder Mystery Machine (MMM) is a new kind of detective game full of shocking, surprising and challenging crimes crafted by our unique scene generator. What do you see? How many stories exist right there in that perfectly still moment? Go ahead, take a guess. Use your skills of observation and deduction to create a map of the crime as you see it. Help your detective solve increasingly difficult cases, get promotions to unlock restricted files and uncover personal stories along the way. Inspired by modern crime dramas and classic murder mystery authors MMM turns the spotlight on you and asks, “what do you think happened here?”

Key Features
  • The Murder Mystery Machine – a procedural-engine that generates countless crime scenes
  • Engaging Stories – each murder is pierced by a rich narrative of core details and red herrings
  • Stunning 3D Tiles – explore detailed dioramas packed with evidence
  • The Notepad – document your gut feeling, gather evidence and interrogate anxious suspects
  • The Board – build your case, make deductions and deliver your accusation: tell your story
  • Experiment – unlock modifiers and try generating cases of your own
  • Promotions – solve case files to level up-your detective and access new playlists/customisations

Footnote
MMM is expected to release in the first half of 2019. Due to the experimental nature of the game, we intend to build in stages with the help of the community: improving various gameplay and generation aspects as we proceed. We are excited about the possibilities this project presents us with and the potential for adding new murders, tiles, characters and themes as we progress. If you have any thoughts or feedback, please follow/wishlist our game or join us in the forums.

Set in the steampunk era, you take on an expedition to a forsaken island that you once called home. But sudden eruptions triggered by a mechanical race of beings turned the wondrous place into an apocalyptic wasteland. In order to survive the island’s natural elements, you have to outsmart these creatures and capture one of their drillships. Use their own technology against them as you upgrade the machinery and reclaim your homeland.

MobileBase01_–_kopie.png

Take the vantage point, stay safe underground or choose a material-rich location and explore. The drillship is one of a kind base capable of joining you on every journey.

DeadlyEnvironment04_–_kopie.png

Experience the tension and thrill of surviving volcanic eruptions. Time between each eruption is your most valuable resource. Use it to roam the island gathering materials, finding new technology and utilizing production.

MechanicalMenace05.gif

Deal with a hostile race of robots that use the volcano as a source of energy. Their units are scattered all around the island’s surface as well as below it.

Customize your drillship from the inside out with colors, symbols, gadgets and more. Automate production, research technologies, set up defenses and turn the drillship into an unbreachable powerhouse.

Words cannot express how awesome this is. Saboteur was a beast of a game back in the day, but sported some neat features like nine difficulty levels and a huge facility to get through. On the top difficulty you literally only had seconds to spare to get everything done and escape in time, and as a result it's a fan favorite among 8-bit speedrunners.

Townsend has hinted that he was planning to make (if he hasn't already) a third Saboteur game (there's a sequel starring a babe instead of a ninja) but it looks like he decided to expand the original instead. Time will tell.

I'll keep an eye on this one for sure.
