What are the adventure games you're really looking forward to in 2015? For me it's Obduction, Catyph, STASIS, Thimbleweed Park, Armikrog, the Pathologic remake, and the new Daedalic games.

For your reference, here's a pretty comprehensive list put together by RPS. One thing it's missing is the aforementioned Catyph by the developer of the wonderful ASA - A Space Adventure (the best Myst-like adventure game in a long time with some really excellent puzzles): http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=267433263

Adventure games
Adventuring means more than just point-and-clicking, though that’s certainly part of it. It’s also about incredible journeys, story and mystery over violence, and whatever your preference, Kickstarted games should bring plenty in 2015.

Being an adventure game done in claymation, Armikrog may be 2015’s most 1900s game. It climbed an impressive $900,000 Kickstarter mountain back in mid-2013, but everything’s been quiet on the kilned front since the end of a secondary funding campaign except for some backers-only updates.

A successful and well received opening chapter didn’t stop the communal raised eyebrow at Broken Age, the original Kickstarter success story, needing to be split into two parts. Vella and Shay’s story will need to end strong.

Dark, dystopian point and clicking with a ludicrously beautiful art style, Dead Synchronicity is also about, seemingly, the end of time. It’s a mishmash of interesting ideas that will hopefully avoid the pitfalls common to time-manipulation storytelling.

An adventure game starring a cheerful, misunderstood clown, Dropsy is aiming for surreal and grotesque and, based on GIFs of its warping, handless star, seems likely to succeed at least at that. The wonderfully named story of a programmer moving to a new city, meeting people and falling in love. Plus their attempts to stop the evil of the ruling classes. We’ve five more episodes of Telltale’s spinoff to the ridiculously popular series to come and our Alec thinks it will be something quite unlike their previous efforts if it continues as it started. I kinda lost faith in Hero-U ever being released. Fingers crossed tho'.

Good catch on Mage's Initiation. Hopefully it can compare to Heroine's Quest quality-wise.

Looking forward to:

Octopus City Blues - Knowledge system that acts like sort of verb system, and potentially more. NPC schedule. Wacky, wacky atmosphere.
Obduction - Watch this video. Myst & Riven developers.
Thimbleweed Park - Verbs, there are verbs. Ron Gilbert.
Stasis
Pathologic

Keep an eye on:

else Heart.Break() - The simulated city concpet sounds intriguing.
Murder - Cyberpunk.
Twelve Minutes - Sounds interesting.
Daedalic games - Looks beautiful as always. Curious to see how C&C will be implemented in The Devil's Men.

I'll keep my eyes open for other things, but right now I'm already excited about Tales from the Borderlands (first episode was really great), Game of Thrones and Dreamfall Chapters (although I wish the latter was released as one whole game).

Tell Tale games and Dreamfall aren't adventure games, remove them from the list and it will become much better.

2015 seems a bit optimistic for Broken Age 2. Points for leaving out the Grim Fandango remake though.

Syberia 3 is really a thing?

Haven't really played any game Sokal was involved in since Paradise.

Miraculously taken in by the travelling Youkol people, Kate Walker, the lawyer from New York, must learn about their culture by interacting with the tribesmen gathered in a huge market-like camp. She will guide them in their transhumance with the snow ostriches, a journey that appears to be very complicated this time…

Did anybody else find Broken Age Act 1 to be a bit unremarkable?

But it looks to be like its going to be an amazing year.

2015 looks like a very fine year for adventure games.

Kickstarter failed and it's a bit tablet-ish, but the atmosphere is great - could be good if they get their act together.
It's always hard to take an atmospheric horror game seriously when the lighting is completely botched.

Believing that Broken Age part 2 is coming in 2015 seems to me like a lot of unwarranted optimism.
Or pessimism

I regret being a slacker backer for this piece of shit.
