Are there any mods that make Oblivion a half decent RPG?

A mate of mine is offering his copy of Oblivion for 10 bucks, however I have read many times that it is an extremely crappy RPG (Not only on here). Are there any mods that turn this game into a respectable RPG? Isn't the level scaling one of the worst features? If so, do any mods totally fix this aspect?

Do yourself a favor and just use the search feature.

Short version:

Yes, there are mods that take care of loot and level scaling. No, there are no mods that change anything about the fact that the games core gameplay still is a huge failure.

And if you must go for first-person hack and slash gameplay, then I'd go with something that does it well like Mount & Blade, or at least fire up games from ten years ago that have an excuse for being clunky and archaic.
