First 11/11/11 flip-flop, now slippery slope into E-despotism. Far more people were banned in 2011 than in 2007 under VD. I don't think the average quality of users dropped this much, and compared to 2007 surprise NSFW content has been largely toned down too. Sounds too much like a growing power trip.

What's next? Codex flooded with Skyrim ads and negative reviews banned?

eh, all these idiots try to play martyr but none have been able to replicate the way i did it. over all I think curry should be un-banned in about a week or so but not permanently since he isn't that bad. but posting NSFW outside of NSFW tags should be a bannable offense and i agree with the decision made here.

but there is one thing I would like to suggest; perhaps make a NSFW sticky in GD for NSFW pics that people want to post and make it illegal to post img-tagged NSFW anywhere outside that thread? would relegate all teh funnyz picz to one place making easily avoidable/accessible depending on who you are.

I would not say everyone. I certainly don't. I have not noticed other GD regulars such as zomg, Serious_Business, Khor, Wyrmlord, phelot, HHR, Higher Game, Trash, Glyphwright, Andhaira and a bunch of others posting any NSFW. I have never even noticed you doing it outside of the TITS thread and that thread is NSFW-tagged, in other words no rules since it is the readers fault if they enter the thread at work, since it clearly warns them. But unregulated posting of NSFW devolves the level of discussion in GD and none of the mature and interesting posters do it anyways. All it ends up doing is getting us blacklisted from image shack AKA fucking up innocent bystanders such as those who uploaded their LP's using that site. I think that not only should NSFW posting be regulated, it should also not be allowed for posters to post images that they uploaded themselves on a image hosting site which does not allow NSFW uploading. it's not about freedom of speech or whatever the fuck these people think GD is supposed to be, an image board for random hentai or whatever. it's about protecting the dignity of the site. NSFW should not appear outside of NSFW marked threads. It's really that simple. I have never read an article, rant, troll, whatever and thought to myself "My opinion on this topic can best be articulated with some gore porn". It's just childish behavior. MAKE a thread for nude pics of hot girls (TITS thread). MAKE a furry thread. MAKE a hentai thread. Just mark them NSFW and punish those who post NSFW outside of NSFW marked threads. I don't know how many times I can repeat this general idea but there you have it. The jumbled mess of my opinion.

@Cassidy: In VD's time our self-cleansing still worked. Troll us or be an extreme retard and all you'd get back was flame. Being an extreme retard now hardly registers anymore. VD banned people more (not only but more) for not liking them. DU bans them if they behave like shit and ask for it.
In VD's time each ban generated one or more sympathy threads for the banned. Now it's:" Yeah, they deserved it.", with perhaps 2-3 sympathy posts...
TL;DR: Yes, the average quality of the users dropped very much (quite a few good newfags notwithstanding). It's why chefe started (and then caused) the whole decline(-meme).
