Grab the Codex by the pussy Codex USB, 2014 Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Yeh, I hit a wall. Meh. It was entertaining for a few hours, but I can't be bothered with it anymore. Avadon is just meh.

Same here. Got to the final third of the game, but just can't force myself to continue with the HP bloaty mess.
I thought this was supposed to not have HP bloat?

Unfortunately, that's how Jeff has been balancing combat encounters for the past 10 years or so now.
That's true for most of his games. But he explicitly said he'd have a different approach this time.

The game was fine until I reached the corruption. Then it became a borefest of HP bloated trash mobs everywhere.

But I suppose it is that way in easier difficulties as well then... As if that's supposed to make it better.

Mobs have too little hp. Most are 1-2 shotted. Bosses go down in 3 turns. Playing on Torment, just reach 3rd chapter (Dragon lair).

finished the game. that was the easiest redbeard fight in all of the series. especially if you choose to betray him multiple times in the story.

overall, this is still the best avadon game imo. geneforge is a 9/10 series, avernum is 8/10, avadon is 7/10.

the series isn't bad, but it is the weakest of the 3 big spidweb series. the factions are far too numerous and never portrayed really in-depth. unlike geneforge, which all are developed gracefully and all of them play a huge part in the game's over arching story. (even vogel himself admitted it is far too widespread)
the character's quests are pretty shallow and predictable too. botan's the only enjoyable one for me.

doubt jeff could make anything as good as geneforge again. it is his magnum opus and one of the greatest creation (pun intended) in the videogame industry

How many times you can betray him? And how it matters in final fight?
at least 2 i think

first

you can poison his magical restorative poison when he asked you to retrieve it from avadon's tower

second
you can steal some strand of his hairs to envoy dirran so she can cast curse on him in the final fight

and how it affect last battle

when his HP is low, he drank the potion, if you poisoned it, he won't be able to heal himself, then the second one, envoy dirran will curse him and give him status effects when he attempt another healing

If he's so worn out, he should ditch the idea of making a full series. Go Nethergate style and create a new, stand-alone game. The Geneforge series is probably the best thing Vogel ever created, but Nethergate is definitely right up there in second place. In some ways, Nethergate is better; the world had more mystery than even Geneforge 1, and anything was possible. You never knew what you'd find next, but it somehow all made sense.

Is it possible to get ending where in ending titles Redbeard is not assassinated by 3 hands?

What really bugs me about the friendly fire is that enemies are exempt from this.
Yes, it does make fights more difficult, but it does so in a very unfair and (at least to me) totally immersion breaking manner.

My lightning cones hurt my own people, but an enemies cone won't hurt his own.
That's just BS.

Also, it doesn't help at all that most area attacks (for sorcerers, at least) are actually cones and positioning yourself in a good manner is basically impossible since enemies are at least clever enough to go for the mage first if they can, even when "challenged" by the warrior.
In addition to that, some things don't seem to hurt my own people. Like turrets for the Tinkermage, making him vastly more useful compared to the Sorcerer.

Conclusion:
I really don't like friendly fire in this game, not because it would be too hard (in fact, I still find it rather easy most of the time on Hard), but because it is just too annoying and IMO doesn't fit the rest of the design.
I'd switch to normal, but then I think the game would really be too easy.
