So why not wait till afterwards to kill them? There is a chance to exploit them before doing away with them. Isn't that what an intelligent villain would do?

She is not a "intelligent villian". She is a interesting character, but not well thought out.

Better critisize her for how she is supposedly socially inept and having hardly met other humans apart from her mother... but... At the same time she tells a story of having seduced a man and telling how she can do that. That doesn't compute. Also she is quite witty and always have something to say, but that just as well doesn't compute with her clear backstory of not having been around humans.

What I am saying is that her backstory isn't really compatible with how she behaves.

"And also, she never mentions wanting to kill the circle for this particular reason, she merely says she doesn't like them."

She shouldn't need to elaborate as it should be obvious. The Tower Mages turn other mages into brainmush at the behest of the Chantry.

" And thirdly, the templars are the mage hunters, not the mages, so it doesn't make sense to want the mages dead in this instance."

Sure, it does. She likely would want both groups dead as they both hunt mages. She is an apostate menaing she is auto a fugitive and a criminal only worthy of being hunted down, and murdered. No reason for her to be be generous.

And, why should want their help for anything? The mages are weak fools and let themselves be controlled by the Chantry, and they cna't be trusted at all.
