It is not. Censoring swastikas in a game about nazis is just dumb. I played the original Commandos that had swastikas in them (as did plenty of other games back then whenever the nazis were involved) and it was fine because it was done for historical accuracy, not to promote the Third Reich (and you were basically fighting the bad guys). This includes Japan, by the way.

Such censorship is an insult to the fans (and, yes, I consider myself a fan of Commandos) and to history. Stupid behavior like that ought not to be rewarded as it only encourages developers and publishers to keep doing what they are doing. This is why I ignored the remaster of Men of Courage, otherwise I'd have bought it.

Commandos 2 was one of the best games of all time for me.
