Well, the reason why I chose Sweden is because of the previous LP, during which it expanded greatly. And because
I'm a Caroleanboo HRE-PotatoHitman alliance should have a northern front else the war gets too boring.
Anyway, European states are done with history and oob files, minister and leader names are all I need to come up with.
Before someones says something about resources and industry, I am working on balancing those for all nations. Job is done fast and very easily so it's not very important right now. Only problem is that the name of the HRE won't show up at all on the map and I tried 3 variations of it with no luck. Will see how I manage that.
Flags will also be switched, another 1-minute job.
Anyway, states are as follows.
1. Iberia, Constitutional Monarchy, secular moderate Muslim. Aka not FSA. Very strong industry (on par with HRE and Byzantium), strong fleet and an army primarily based on infantry and motorized infantry with some light armor divisions. Only European nation aside from britain that possesses carriers, though their battleships are inferior in number and quality to those of the Byzantines. Will make for an interesting Mediterranean naval war.
2. France, Republic, Social Conservative. Strong Industry (on par with the Commonwealth), average fleet but large manpower and a very solid land force with many well equipped infantry divisions (all supplied with artillery) as well as medium armor divisions.
3. HRE, Imperial, Paternal Autocrat. Very strong industry, good fleet, lots of infantry divisions as well as light armor divisions with motorized infantry. Biggest army in Europe and strong resource base, one of the superpowers.
4. Byzantine Empire, Fascist Republic, Fascist. Very Strong Industry, strong fleet with emphasis on battleships and naval bomber support. Army is made up of well equipped infantry divisions and has the biggest medium armor armies. Another Superpower.
5. Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, Constitutional Monarchy, social conservative. Strong industry, small fleet but a very big army stretched across the border with russia, made up primarily of infantry with lots of artillery support. Has the necessary expertise and industrial base to develop a solid mechanized force, an event chain helps them accomplish that as well.
6. Russian Empire, Imperial, Paternal Autocrat. 2nd biggest army in the world after ISUK mostly made out of infantry with some specialized tank corps but spread out across vast borders with several enemies, namely the powerful Rum and Japanese Empire. Still more than a serious enough thread for PLC
7. Romania, fascist republic. Contested hotly between the Byzzies and the Potato-Hitmen, not to mention the HRE claims on Transylvania, it's currently neutral ground but the prize of the Ploesti oilfields will ensure that the land will burn again. Currently a puppet under Byzantium.
8. United Kingdom, constitutional monarchy, social conservative. A colonial power with a history for allying with either Iberia or France to check the other one, it managed to wrest most of southeast Asia and currently eyes Japan warily. Very powerful fleet, small but well trained army, very strong industry but concentrated on the home islands and a very tempting carpet bombing magnet. Provided the Japanese get a nearby airbase or get someone else to do it for them. (no spoilers yet)
9. Sweden, social conservative, republic. Once a powerful empire that sharply declined, had it's homelands occupied and it's imperial status dismantled by the HRE and Russia, it is currently in deep recession along with the rest of the scandinavian countries due to Polish and German monopoly of the baltic sea, the seizure of the strait tolls by the HRE as well as the cartels imposed on them by the British, who quickly took advantage of the loss of swedish imperial power.
With the rise of radical politcal and social ideologies in southern europe and northern america however, as well as a huge backlash on an incompetent government, it's likely that aggression will yet rise again from the north.
Alliances are as follows:
HRE-PLC, with Iberia joining should France enter the opposition.
BYZ-RUS, with France a possible member if the imperials play their cards right.
The territorial goals are eastern europe for Russia and PLC respectively, the status of Hungary and Romania as well as Italy. If Iberia and France join, the dismantling of Iberia is in the cards or the division of France between the HRE and Iberia respectively.
Sweden remains a wild card, as they can join either alliance and go after Finland and northern Russia or reclaim their baltic and german possessions.
And there can always be a falling out among the victors for the spoils, particularly the baltic and danzig or the caucasus respectively.
