Looks like it's using the ArmA 2 engine. And map. If so, then we'll finally have a game with that engine, instead of just a gunporn simulator.

Skywayz can u confirm??

This isn't a joke: http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2011/02 ... -3-screen/

Looks a bit like mancubus (or whatever the fuck the it was called) from Doom

Would be ironic, wasn't serious sam an engine demo in the first place?

That would be pretty retarded considering how much time they spent developing the new version of their own engine.

I hope you know that BJ is joking although SS3 won't run in the web browser on the current engine either.

Codex 2014 Make the Codex Great Again! Grab the Codex by the pussy
If that monster is a remake of the one featured in Serious Sam 2, then the lower part of its body is on tracks.

Otherwise, no comment until more is known.

Well it does look like ArmA 2. The desaturization, shadows, textures, shaders blur, smoke, textures, vegetation are all copies of ArmA 2.

More screenshots and a cool press release.

“Holy crap, I am going to make a boatload of cash of this game,” said Fork Parker, chief financial officer at Devolver Digital, the Serious Sam 3: BFE publisher. “I mean that’s what this is all about, right? If this thing comes out in the summer my wife is totally getting the tit job she’s been asking for.”

Turns out it isn't.

Looks like a Strogg wandered into some next-gen setting.

Which is pretty awesome and maybe one day id will make it happen (id Tech6 pls).

EDIT: This looks really awesome. Probably the first Serious Sam game I have really been excited about (I used to enjoy demos for SS only :P ).

The re-imagined Gnaars look p. cool.

Modern setting and lack of colours, however, doesn't.

But I like what they're promising.

'glorious throwback to the golden age of first-person shooters where men were men, cover was for amateurs and pulling the trigger made things go boom.'

'16 player co-op'

'“We wanted to expand on everything gamers love about the series while adding some genuinely unique new features to really enhance the mayhem Serious Sam is known for.”'

'hold down the trigger and lay waste to a never-ending onslaught of attackers'

fuck yes :incline:

Art direction doesn't really fit Serious Sam. What's with the gritty grim-dark? Looks more like Modern Warfare.

Actually, now that I think about it, I would love to see it done as a sort of Modern Warfare parody.

The fact that it's coming to consoles has me concerned. Not to be too Skyway about it, but GOD DAMN CONSOLES.

On the bright side, almost positively guaranteed to be better than Bulletstorm.

I swear if I see another goddamn kleer skeleton...

Annoying-ass enemies aside, both First Encounter and Second Encounter were great fun for the most part, especially in co-op (I'm not sure how else Serious difficulty was meant to be played). Another game in the vein of the first two would be nice, but as others said...Serious Sam 2 happened.

Are they claiming that cover is no longer for amateurs?

Still, that's massive fucking incline right there :salute:
