So, looking at that screenshot, it looks like the game will be a bisexual furry porn RPG after all?

was there ever any doubt?

you mean making a game with so much furry gayness in it? the text in that screenshot is just unbearable, I can't believe kids will play that shit
I can't also believe that they (sega too) turned a fun arcade franchise from 90s into a gay piece of shit for perverts.

Kids won't play it, adults will.

Could someone please start getting to work on an unsanctioned mod ?

It should include Hedgehoggian rape, incest and hard drug use.

Imagine if every artist in the history would do his craft only for money. In case of Bioware they had legions of fans and if NWN and BG are any indicators, hardcore CRPGs would sell millions regardless. Bioware, however, is such a complete and utter sellout that they would rather choose *potentially* more money in favor of keeping at least a bit of creativity and respect for a new art field.

I want to rape the collective asses of Bioware as a punishment for such sluttery.

Kind of bringing obtuseness to a whole new level, I see.

This is a game for kids, in case that passed over your head. Is there something wrong in making a different kind of game for a different audience-- in this case a game on a platform that only requires a smaller team and thus can be made with relatively low cost-- in addition to our regular efforts? Apparently so, and in addition it seems to be cause for personal affront. God forbid.

Sad to see that the Codex has abandoned even the pretext of intelligent discussion these days.

Usually when someone gets rid of VD things get better for them. Not so for the Codex.

Anywho...the Sonic RPG doesn't seem up my alley, but Mass Effect was surprisingly pretty decent and if Dragon Age ever comes out, it might be worth a try if I can get my hands on a new-fangled graphics card. Bioware seems to be starting (hopefully) an upward swing from the shitstorm that started with Neverwinter Nights and got worse until Mass Effect turned things around.

I am willing to give you a discussion which would make the Chomsky and Von Mises fragments in your psyche succumb to catatonic exasperation.

Not only that, but if you can devote truckloads of resources to kiddy consolitis, you could certainly devote equal resources to those hungering for an adult themed, massive, epic HARDCORE genuine CRPG for ADULTS, couldn't you !???

Oh yes, I almost forgot !!! DA will fill that void... to the point of disturbing me. It will make me want to lighten up a little with the counterattraction of Hedgehoggian fluff.

GENIUS is the Biowarian vision...

PURE genius !!!

I no longer even desire BG3 !!!

A kiddie RPG from Bioware might not be such a bad idea if that's what they're aiming for. Gets them hooked on RPGs at a young age. ;)

Is this being modelled to the 'western' or the Japanese style for RPGs or will it be influenced by both to some extent?

The platform and screen shots for it so far would make me think it's being done in the JRPG style, but the fact that it is Bioware makes me wonder how much their previous work is going to affect it.

Well if it is going to have dark, menacing, sinister overtones and/or undertones (as their forum indicates), maybe Bioware is really trying to encompass all possible demographics ?

Watch it Bioware, if you make the Hedgehogs too malicious, some kids might have nightmares and James Dobson will subsequently target you with his puritanical wrath !

Sad to see the mighty Gaider so easily riled by anti-Bioware sentiment from a dumbfuck.

We even went to the trouble of labeling him for you (TWICE) so that you could easily ignore him. Oh well.

If this game truly is marketted towards a younger demographic, I think they should keep the whole relationship thing to a minimum. Children are getting pregnant at younger and younger ages, and I'd hate for my beloved Sonic to share responsibility in this matter. I appreciate the edgy social consciousness of the lesbian relationship in mass effect, but that game was for a mature audience. Children are innocent; we shouldn't groom them into thinking they need to be in some kind of sexual relationship (beyond their understanding) at such young ages. It seems wherever you look, the media is shoving this down their lolipop-soared throats. Give it a rest this time, will you?

Listen, the mighty Keldornian one wouldn't even EXIST without DG.

I am inevitably humbled (in light of his presence).... to a rather extensive degree.

But quite honestly, my hankering for BG3 does render me a tad irritable, and a smidgeon sarcastic. Hopefully, I can be forgiven for said capricious eruptions and displays of fallen paladin egomania.

It's EAs dime. You're free to make whatever they like. Unless we're stock holders, there's not much to say objectively. I do take issue with you hiding behind the word "different" - all of your "different" projects since NWN have been blatant stabs at mainstreaming.

a game on a platform that only requires a smaller team and thus can be made with relatively low cost

That is the great potential of the DS. Seems like the perfect opportunity to return to your roots and put together a great hardcore rpg with little risk. Or you could grab the cheapest franchise you could license and pump out a kiddie game.

Sad to see that the Codex has abandoned even the pretext of intelligent discussion these days.

I'm more sad to see that Bioware has abandoned even the pretext of intelligent rpgs these days. Zing!

EDIT: That came out harsher than I intended. Hard to stay positive when discussing the continued corpse-raping of one of my favorite genres.

Perfect for the Codex then.

It might actually be a good opportunity to introduce kids to mature and serious themes, something like Planescape: Torment with Sonic as The Nameless One.

They'll never know what hit them.

This.

As a professional anything involved in creative works, replying to criticism or negative sentiments will always make you look foolish, thin-skinned, or just whiny. I'm not even sure how Gaider got wind of this thread--did someone link it to him, or does he just troll the Codex for Bioware-bashing topics on a semi-regular basis?

(Not that I protest! This could lead to some lulz. TWD, please reply to Gaider and rile him up some more.)

He luvs us.

Paper Mario has set the bar for lame video game mascot "RPGs" somewhat high, I'm curious to see how Bio falls on their face with this one.

Why would you *want* to make a game for kids? And for Sonic... as game developers and thus artistic people, I truly doubt you pour any love in to the game. The purpose of this project is clear: Bioware wants to conquer the Asian market with a freak show game that those decadent Asian gamers love so much.

Insert Title Here RPG Wokedex Codex Year of the Donut I'm very into cock and ball torture
First of all, I'd like to inform you that Bach and Mozart did not, at all, work for free. Quite the contrary.

Secondly, this is the Codex. Supposedly, Bioware doesn't make RPGs we like. So where's the big deal? Just shut up and wait for Dragon Age.

Third, well, it doesn't matter anymore, but thirdly, what's wrong with wanting to make a game for kids? As a cooperation selling entertainment, it seems like a good idea to explore a broad and varied demographic.

Or are you saying it's wrong to try and make the most money you can as a cooperation? Seems counter-intuitive to me.

I'm more interested in knowing when Bioware will stop making games for kids and start making games for adults.
