A big problem with modern AAA games is the minimaps and quest compasses that are either at the corner or the top of the screen,
isn't it strange how we went from having mini-maps in the centre of the screen to the corners. What the fuck happened. Game designers got retarded.

Is there a reason not to place UI elements at the edges anymore? Console games were played on CRT televisions that cut some random amount from the edges so it was understandable back then.

Maybe the new screens are so huge that if the elements are the edge, they are out of players' field of view? :thinkin:
