This is really cool. Was he able to do this because he's a developer? Shouldn't all of us be able to have fancy background-like avatars like his if we choose to?

Well my best guess would have to be that I earned this banner by being banned to hell and crawling out bare handed on my knees before the church praying for forgiveness.

That's definitely new. I wonder if the new version of XenForo has that as a feature, but the importing of all the old accounts retained the old account options format, thus eliminating that field.

Well I think all you have to do to unlock a codex banner is reach level 22 in Realm of the Tempest.

Crispy, the profile banner can be set independently from the user title. There's a permission for that. Try setting up one now *ahem* for testing purposes.
