Sad news to report today: On June 18, 2012 we’ll be turning off the Dragon Age Legends servers. This is by no means a reflection on the quality of the game; the awesome team who created it; or the incredible, passionate community who has supported it. The unfortunate reality is that DAL doesn’t make enough revenue to sustain itself.

You guys are missing the point. You should be thrilled that a shitty franchise is in trouble because it will encourage them to make less shitty games.

EA is notorious for disabling online only like a year or two after the initial game's release, even to the point of disabling online passes, cutting people off from extra single player content and characters.

No it won't. It will encourage to make even shallower and shittier games, because EA will think """"""complex"""""" rpgs like Dragon age don't sell.

That's actually good. Soon Bioware will remove most of the stats from its games and, hopefully, stop labeling their games rpgs.

Actually, I doubt this reflects much on the Dragon Age franchise. Legends by and large served as a promo game. It wouldn't surprise me if they are moving on to make a new one that ties in with Dragon Age 3.

Shutting down an online promo Facebook game after a couple of years does not mean the franchise is in trouble

For every victory there are seven times greater losses.

The decline of all of human culture and entertainment is inevitable and will reach another false rock bottom that will make the games of today look like intellectual giants next to the shit of 2020s. Only for them to prove that truly, the capability of creating retardation is limitless by leading to something even more idiotic through the next decades of the 21st century.

Indeed, this is the fate of humanity and entertainment, kinect controls will be a thing of the past as new controls will only require base mouth breather thought via a neural interface, and quick time events will fall out of favour due to their complexity.

I think that changing the definition of bioware games as not crpgs is much less likely than simply further changing the common definition of crpg so it can fit the new bioware games.

Somewhere, on a spacious desk of a very important person with many a manservant, lies a lengthy report filled with bar graphs and pie charts saying that the game failed because no one wants to play oldschool 2D turn-based computer RPGs anymore.

The entire fall of humanity will collapse once Holodecks sexbots are made.
