It's not that the players are "stupid" either, when you think that the majority of people love fashion. There's a more fitting word for it, what's it called?

People don't stand in huge queues to buy the same same dress/pants/shirt because that would be stupid. Fashion is all about wearing something that nobody else has so that you are unique.

Not really. The whole point about fashion is that a style is stated as the cool one and everyone dresses along those lines to stay inside the cool circle. One of the pleasures of going out in fashionable circles is that everyone isn't dressed the same way, but very diferently while staying inside the same general lines as everyone is trying to one up everyone else for attention and their share of the spot light. It rewards creativity inside general lines, is not the same sheeple behaviour normals and commoners have to appearance at all.
