Review summed up my impression of the game pretty well, dull and if this is the best that Obsidian can do when set free from a publisher, well i'm unimpressed. Thing is I thought the game was stunning in looks and the realistic art design was great, none of that retarded oversized WoW shit. Peculiarities of the setting went unexplored, too much was revealed too soon in terms of the gods, the motivation of the protagonist was piss poor, and any potential was wasted.

Well, at least this time someone made the effort of making their own video and thread instead of making the staff proofread their mistakes and do the proper formatting.

Just face it, you weren't expecting people to actually be looking at the screen at that moment and were tempted to replace all the text with dick clipart, but something stopped you.

Should be the Official August PoE review, and remain pinned on the front page at least until another review is made.

Good stuff, I liked it. You should consider speaking a little bit slower, it was at times too fast for me.

Anyway, make more reviews.

I also posted this video on the Steam forums. There everyone tells me the game is great and the review is bad. Here everyone tells me that the game is bad and the review is good.
Gave a look and saw a guy trying very hard to argue that fampyrs aren't vampyrs, then going on a tangent to say PoE is to BG2 what Tolkien is to Der Ring des Nibelungen. Also, people saying that the armor system is ok because any decent RPG player would LARP and give robes only to mages.

I know which echo chamber I prefer.

A brilliant video, bro.

:brodex:

Matches my own thoughts almost exactly. It was nice to play RPG in this style, but all the issues you pointed out prevent it from being anything more than shallow immitation of old classics.

Oh god, i decided to take a look:

I understand English is not your first language, so it is understandable, but they have to eat flesh to stave off degeneration, which all occurs in any case at variable rates. So, basically, they're zombies, not vampries.

I'll watch the video in the morning (getting late here and I have work in the morning) but I did like what they did with the undead in the PoE setting - that they're the same basic creature (ie; a soul bound to its own dead body) just at different stages of decay. Fampirs are the start, early enough to pass for still living save for the need to consume flesh and blood to stave off the decay. From there, they start shifting into the less-and-less living versions until they're just the animated skeleton driven mad by bloodlust it can never sate. Even destroying them doesn't free the soul; just leaves it bound to a pile of now-useless broken bones that will eventually turn to dust with the soul still bound to them.
