I tried to play it, and it's a fucking kid's game. You start out in a village doing tasks for your friends and family, your village gets attacked, and you have to leave the village. I stopped playing because I'm not 12 but I assume you're some sort of chosen one.

You're chosen in as much as you had the shitty luck to have a shard of a sword shoved up your ass as a kid, which isn't really very romantic.

Anyway, I didn't mind the OC, beyond a few very dire points (orc caves etc). It was nothing amazing, but it was fun, and my tastes weren't elitist enough at that point to be overly offended.

What part of it was fun? Does the combat get better?

The trial and building the keep, mainly.
Of course, both are almost entirely cosmetic experiences that completely fail to live up to what they could have been, but for one playthrough - and as long as you don't think too hard about it - they're entertaining enough.

When you're 15, anyway. Now I am old and wise and bearded and scornful of such things.

Well, do you have better things to do? I suspect not, since you're asking something like this at the codex. So just play it.

Do you do a lot of things because you, "have nothing better to do"? How's that working out for you?

Since I can't bathe in gold coins, don't have a harem, wouldn't even know how to operate a fighter jet and so on, I think I indeed do everything because I have nothing better to do.

NWN2 isn't atrocious, and since he had to ask instead of starting to play something else instead, I assume he doesn't have a lot of other things to do.
