In such a way,sure. It is useless for my double rapier rogue,you get seen when you get in the enemie's cone of view. You can't even disable a trap in a dark dungeon without being seen.
That is something that has always irritated me about the IE games. Seriously irritates me. If you are stealthed and there is no one looking at you directly in broad daylight, why do you drop out of stealth when you disable a trap? It is completely ludicrous.

But going through dungeons while being unable to simultaneously be in stealth and detect traps felt risky, even if I was spamming "Q" all the time.

Just to be clear, though, in PF:K, you don't exit stealth when disarming traps, and with the correct rogue talent, you can even move at full speed in stealth.

Waifus are still serious business I see. Anyway, I think I'll try playing with a short party of 4, for some reason I always preferred smaller parties. I'll put all good aligned characters as core and then ad the rest when dealing with their crap quests. It's going to be an all out magical party. My character will be a gish of some sort, Octavia is an obvious arcane trickster, Tristian is a cleric/sorcerer/mystic theurge. But what about Linzi? Can she do better than a plain boring bard?
Straight Bard is probably the way to go, aye. Inspire Courage is valuable. You could mix in 1 level of Fighter, go 7 levels of Bard, and then prestige her into Eldritch Knight if you want, but she will lose inspire courage progression and 2 levels of spell progression, so I wouldn't really call that an upgrade, esp. since Inspire Courage boosts your party's attack and damage.

You should probably build Linzi's feats and gear as an archer. Give her Point Blank Shot, Precise Shot, Deadly Aim, Rapid Shot, Arcane Strike, Manyshot, Clustered Shots, Hammer the Gap. Then again, that might be a waste if you just want to use her as a pure spellcaster in combat. But Linzi's weak charisma means she might be better off avoiding any spells that depend on saving throws.

Alchemists in PF:K qualifies as arcane casters, and their extracts as arcane spells? That has... potential, especially if they introduce more PrC:s later.
No. Vivisectionist Alchemist has sneak attack. He replaces the Rogue level (add in Accomplished Sneak Attacker), you take 3 Wizard levels, and you progress spellcasting as a Wizard through AT, but you still have the perks of a 1st level Alchemist instead of a 1st-level Rogue. Unless you need trapfinding, 1 level of Alch is much better than 1 level of Rogue.

If you want to fuck around as an Alchemist, dip one level of Fighter or Barbarian and go play as a more armored brawler Alchemist, since they have no arcane spell failure. Barb 1 + Alch 1 is 28 str at level 2, but you'll need to keep up rage rounds.

I've noticed a bug, sometimes characters move like in slow motion, and hitting v twice fixes it.

V is actually the short cut for slow mow, not sure what they call it but it's in the key bindings.
Yet they didn't bother to make a shortcut for stealth :negative:

That's sadly true, but with some maneuvering starting a fight with 8d8 SA to nastiest enemy is still worth dumping few skill points rogues have in abundance anyways.

You have to click the weapon set number above the weapon icon, not the weapon itself.
This pissed me off.

After a few days of autistic chimpanzee screeching on my part, I finally realised that this post means you can switch weapons by clicking on the number. Heh. I just assumed that since you couldn't drag and drop the weapons into the quickbar...

I heard a major patch is on the way for Friday. Hope that gets sorted, and steath > quickbar as well. I'm one of those players that actually uses the keyboard as well as mouse (because I have x2 arms and 10 fingers) - unlike all of those 1 armed/handed types out there that only use a mouse for RPGs & strategy games.

Tell me about it. Especially early in the Nashkel Mines. At those levels, you don't want to get hit by traps, but if you try to detect them to disarm, you get filled full of holes by kobolds if you are not very careful. That is a big engine problem they had.

I don't think that's a bug.
Moving around whole party matches the speed of the slowest party member, so someone must be slowed, exhausted, etc.
If you want to move them faster either wait for the condition to go away or move others separately

I noticed it when I made sacred huntsmaster which has animal companion, so it'd been impossible to be slowed, exhausted or something. It happened right in the first room.

You can also click on expand slots and the press keys 1-4 to switch weapons. They probably thought this freed up more clicks. :cry:

Someone's probably already asked, but is your kingdom management fucked if you ditched/lost/killed all the pre-made companions at the earliest opportunity and then created a full custom party? Can they even act as regular advisers?

Stealth is actually great, the main problem being that your more heavily armored allies suck ass at it. It's extremely easy to score ranged sneak attacks in the game, too, and stealth is tracked individually from character to character even after combat has started, and even for characters that doesn't have sneak attacks, it means that for the start of the encounter, they won't be targeted. It also helps tremendously with moving into position, just be careful not to get too close to the enemy with things that have a lot of armor. I gave Valerie the +10 Stealth cloak to compensate.

Always stealth before combat. Always.

I don't really care about positioning,i do play on normal/challenging custom settings. Still haven't seen a battle where i need stealth for positioning. I use Valerie as a wall of destruction :),she have more than 41 AC without any buffs and a bastard sword with elemental damage + hammering the gap. She just decimates anything she touches,no need for sneaking.

Can you post your valerie character screen so I can see how you get 41 ac.
Here it is,tho it seems i had dropped two points somewhere around the road :),maybe changed a shield or some buff was active. Still i am certain that she had 41 at one point,was very proud of my masonry skillz.

By the way as a chronic character reroller, the sycamore spider dungeon is genuinely unfun to replay.
Whoever decided that spider webs should last for 60 hours OUT OF COMBAT should be hanged.
Right next to the guy that decided to okay a million loading screens in this game.

Being evil continues to pay off.

I turned the troll king and kobold/totally-not-that-dickhead-gnome against one another causing the troll to smash him into pieces and making what was initially a real motherfucker of an encounter (the troll king hits like he just walked in on his wife cheating and the kobold casts some real nasty buffs/spells to augment that shit) into a much more manageable and ruthless gang beatdown. Of course, the troll tried to bitch out and ask for me to spare him but I don't support porn of trolls/elf girls and slashed his throat before the voice actor finished his lines. Thanks for the mace and belt, KID.

In other news, I am never touching those Greater Enraged Owlbears again. Unless they are guarding some sort of Holy Avenger +10 I can only walk willingly into that rape wagon so many times before I realize that I am essentially fighting three red dragons that have decided to take up shapeshifting.

Started playing too. Unfair, but damage x1. Fucking slavers encounter rapes my all girl noob party. I can bring it to Valerie vs one last swordsman, but she's useless after all.

Yeah, the bug is probably tied to it.
I also "like" how, if one char of the group is stuck in a web, everyone slows down.
They will slow down IF you select all and move. If you select ALL but stuck char they will move with regular speed.

How do I upgrade buildings? The info says 'Can be upgraded into XXX' but there is no button or option to do so.

I am really loving this game, but that building UI is crazy bad
