Neither PoE nor NuXcom tried to iterate on the design of their (spiritual) predecessors. I took your original post to mean that you think Obsidian and InXile ruined any chance of video game marketing based on nostalgia for old-school RPGs being a success. Maybe I misunderstood. I still don't think the Pre-Raphaelite comparison works.What they did do, however, was at least getting the basics to be good enough before smearing all over them and doing whatever they wanted.
