Now that R2 (as in 'more polished demo') is out, we want to spread the word and generate more awareness.

For starters, we added AoD to indiedb (as someone suggested in the past):

Do us a favor and visit the page to boost our rank.

We'll also try to get the demo on the cover disks and indie bundles. What else do you think we can do? Any thoughts?

Normally I'd recommend "sell it with sex"
roman-soldier-costume-3875-p.jpg
, but since they have at least some integrity over at Iron Tower, I'll go ahead and recommend just making some promo artwork.
Cool bloodstained roman soldier striking a pose, or something like this.
Make a product page that's essentially like the back of a classic PC games box, except with a big shiny green (not red) PRE-ORDER button.

Use the Spears in artwork representing the game.
The latest wallpaper/art piece, with the roman soldier overlooking a desolate plane was great.

And be sure to say how long is it in making wherever you hype it. Then show early screenshots and the latest ones.
Get some reviews from Alec Meer on RPS and from Total biscuit. Throw in Angry Joe ... - maybe.
But that is probably better to do with full game so you can send them a nice free testing copy.

Open up a contest for unknown and newbie music composers to test their metal in creating atmospheric music make forum members vote on the best and include the best five or something in the game with the names of the artists in the creds.
You do need more ambient music tracks anyway. They need some work on a serious project and cred it gives. Good for you, good for them.
Nice and simple.
