Does anyone here know how?

For whatever reason the quest 'A Farmer's Plight' is bugged for me. I can't talk to the ogre, anytime I walk up to him I get a floating dialogue box above him saying we've already reached an agreement (or something like that) despite having never talked to him in this play through. Technically I could still complete the quest by just killing him and taking the head to the farmer.

Last time I did this quest, though, I was able to recruit the ogre as a hireling for the keep, which is what I'd prefer to do especially since now with the new keep quest chain raising an army to protect the keep actually matters.
