I know many people were interested in this WWI flight sim and never took the plunge.

They are now offering a new unlimited demo which is actually the full game with 2 planes.

You can add planes later or just play it for free. Apparently they want to make money exclusively by selling planes. What I don't get is why anyone whould spend money for the retail version now.

I tried it and it's neat. It's a myth that it is hard to fly or take off. I could take off with the keyboard on my first try. I believe it's a myth too that it needs a quad core (I have only a Core2 E8400 / ATI 4850). When I installed it, it indeed looked and ran like shit. But after I disabled all post processing effects and set all other settings to maximum everything is fine.

I should really make screenshots with the default settings just to show how fucked up this post processing stuff is.

No, unless you consider a three year old Core2 E8400 & ATI 4850 a damn super computer.

The trick for me was to disable post processing filters which made the game look like shit and max out the other stuff.

For comparison this is what the game looked like with default settings:

The reflections I chose are not even the crassest examples I have seen.

runs on a 3870 (gets hiccups when too many enemies are around... duels are fine)... i'll have to fiddle with joystick sensibility though... presets are a bit odd
