If you don't divorce your SJW wife, you failed your run. There was no more unlikeable character than her. "I am the first lady, someone unelected, with exactly zero mandate, but if you don't help me push my agenda upon the populace, I will divorce you, tee-hee."
I made her love me AND she got zero legislation done, as she couldn't convince the legislatuire. I made her sit down during the speech and I got the character she came to me with policy ideas (the socialist education minister) with to resign before the end of my turn.

Yeah, I think I did OK.

You promised that in private dialogues and never delivered? Sounds realistic.

Did anyone manage to pass the "remove judges at will" law? Or any other variant where you screw with them.

Seems to be the hardest, since you lose your justice minister's vote automatically since it's too authoritarian.

Also a nice touch is

If you order your secret police to investigate the Old Guard they lead you on and tell you to go fuck yourself.

In my playthrough I aligned myself with the Old Guard to get the emergency declaration done to rid Soland of the terrorists, promised to nationalize for extension - but instead privatized (it seemed unlikely that they'd go against me to support the reformists). All without ever directly aligning myself with Soll (publicly or privately). Even got Soll to tip his hat at me during the military parade.

Hell, when the dam was occupied with terrorists I didn't have a single friendly casualty. The one mistake could have been joining ATO, but I wasn't too sure how the war would go if I didn't show strength and alliance. Then again I got to join ATO after turning back refugees escaping a genocide.

Wait couldn't just refuse ATO with drunk president of Lepsia and then ally with him alone?

Lepsia wanted too much, the oil company, and I broke his teapot. So I refused. I got ATO membership after President from Arcasia asked me to join.

But in the United Nations thing (forgot the name) we pretty much all condemned the Rumberg(? the aggressive northern neighbour) Queen, so there was no war. I also shot down one of their planes after they did the same.

Has an ongoing fling with Peter's wife.
Yeah, she is really forced in the game and feels out of place. There should have been an early life decision to which woman to marry, not to just end up with lesbian sjw cunt that hates her kids.

There's a few narratives that feel forced, but overall I think the game is an interesting visual novel.

I agree, it was neat despite some weakpoints mentioned ITT. Hopefully, the potential sequel will have more management options.

Lol there is Geralt of Rivia too....he is just Giralt of Ribery and produced a wine called Dandelion. Too bad he is supposed to be dead at the start of the game.

I've been captivated by this glorified visual novel for the last few days. The subject might seem a little dry to the politically disinterested, but I think there's a level of authenticity to the world-building which makes trawling through codex entries worth the trouble. Ideologies are well-balanced in their representation (one man's hero is another's villain, and vice versa), the writing is great, and temptation lurks around every corner. Even if your goals are selfless, you may need to get your hands dirty for the greater good.

I lacked one vote in the SC to push it through, from the text in the meeting with the female judge the tipping point was supporting capitalism.
After my first playthrough as a free-market reformist conservative, I played a second as an ultra-nationalist socialist authoritarian, and the female moderate judge (Isabel Edmonds) accused me of being a Leninist Malenyevist (whereas she hadn't critiqued my first character for being capitalist). I think that in general she's difficult to convince to pass through a set of constitutional changes granting extensive powers to the executive, so if you want to be successful you're probably going to need a backup save so that you can retry the conversation.

If you don't divorce your SJW wife, you failed your run. There was no more unlikeable character than her. "I am the first lady, someone unelected, with exactly zero mandate, but if you don't help me push my agenda upon the populace, I will divorce you, tee-hee."
If you support her feminist endeavors and then veto the bill, you can fob her off with an excuse and she'll still be content (probably dependent on various other choices made).

Did anyone manage to pass the "remove judges at will" law? Or any other variant where you screw with them.

Seems to be the hardest, since you lose your justice minister's vote automatically since it's too authoritarian.
My second playthrough I went the constitutional authoritarian executive path and successfully replaced every last judge on the Supreme Court, screwing over those I had allied with to pass the amendments in the first place (Isabel Edmonds, Heron Garaci, and 5 anonymous judges).

Strange, this had a positive outcome when I tried it (edit: I had an anti-corruption task force, not a secret police).

Interesting, I couldn't get past Isabel even with just impeachment in the assembly for judges.

If it's the run from the screen above you had the anti-corruption police (gave the law budget money to justice department), if you give it to the police you get the
acid tub loving
secret police.

First game was bugged with military parade, couldn't continue
Had support of 8 judges of 11, all parties except fascist, allied with Lepsia e Agnolia
Then I do a less democratic play but was really cucked
Soll was happy to me but Orso asked for nationalize some stuff and remove relaxed immigration. I didn't remove the immigration because I feared to lose Agnolia alliance. But I nationalized just a little.
Orso decided to impeach me, drunk guy of Lepsia did the trade deal but refused the alliance. I refused to recognize Agnolia island but commie were pissed already because I was allied with Agnolia.
I had two allies but Agnolia is small and the other is the joke Smolak. So at the end I lost the war and died in the capital.....but the good news is that Lileas backstabbed me and wont the party so she won't be president!
Gus left me too, I think because I investigated the Oligarch and he is Gus Fring

I think that it is similar to Hidden Agenda if you go authoritarian route: no centrism allowed. On the other hand democratic path substain centrism too that was really difficult if not impossible with Hidden Agenda.

Third I had total win
Economy and welfare all good
Won the war with 3 allies (for some reasons Smolak wasn't there) and captured the queen
Bludish people were happy despite my alliance with Smolak
Won election
Wife was butthurt because I made a deal with the mayor (other time I blamed him of rudeness, this time he left so I had to make the deal).....that proves that she isn't a feminist but just a wannabe sjw star. She didn't care that I made the law for women. Also she supports Bludish beating their own wives.

Lorren is buggy? I invested there two times but I solved Berga problem while Lorren rust belt stayed red.

What a ride. As I sat there having betrayed everyone I'd ever loved, holding a bottle of booze in one hand and a handgun in the other, all I could think was... at least my wife won't get the vineyard in the divorce.

Anyway please both Old Guard and Soll Is supposed to be impossible

Old Guard wants closed border and public takeover of corporations. The first piss off Agnolia but Agnolia doesn't matter much, but the latter piss off Lespia.
Soll want Red Youth banner so goodbye Valgard too and gameover.

I think It Is safer to ignore Soll rather than Old Guard. If you want to be Pinochet you should take free market and follow the constitutional reform path.
Also banning Young Sords doesn't piss many people....you get a temporary malus that you can recover but even fascist party will like you unlike Red Youth that there Is no way to mend. Same for the Bludish party....Just do some visits in Bergia and they will like you even if you banned their party and sided with Smolak! You will get some scenes with Leke pissed off but you can easily make peace later.

It Is right or you can please Soll and win the war?

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
>Be good boy president Rayne
>promised focus on education
>spend first two years doing exactly that while spreading myself thin towards economy growth
>been mostly leaning left
>tried to treat family right including son
>son failed hard at college
>fuck it I'm rich, send him to an abroad university
>liberal newspaper's headline: "PRESIDENT RAYNE SENT HIS DIMWIT SON AWAY BECAUSE HE DIDN'T TRUST SORDLAND EDUCATION"

So a question for people who completed the game as authoritarian Rayne, can you demand execution for journalists? Because I have an urge to replay the game now.

The liberal newspaper in my game said “Rayne knows good value of foreign education for son” or something to that effect. Maybe you didn’t work out the deal with the media guy to cover your ass?

Nah I did have Marcel's backing. Actually it's Ekonomists not the anti-gov Radical. Radical still made fun of us though. I feel like I just got played
