It's actually kinda funny how pathetic it is.

'dat Dying Light trailer. Fucking Techland is shameless. It's just a NEXTGEN Dead Island. Game looks exactly the same only prettier.

It probably has level scaled enemies too. I'll wait for steam sales for some co-op action.

This is pure gold:

I love how Keighley looks like he's going to lose it any second, but still keeps his cool somehow. He's also obviously lost when speaking to someone who's not socially awkward like most gamers who try to interview him. Or he just can't believe McHale is going all out and tearing his show a new one. It's entertaining in both cases.

McHale is a hero.

EDIT:
For this thing, he is. I couldn't care less about sub-par american comedy shows.

I really don't give much of a fuck about mainstream gaming but I just looked at the list of winners and nominees out of morbid curiosity. Guess that makes me a hipster but I haven't played a single one (to be fair, though - Blood Dragon and Metro are in my backlog). Oh well - maybe next year'll be more interesting.

EDIT: The clips with Joel McHale are hilarious, good job by him! :D

I like how now everyone is butthurt about how Joel McHale made they feel like retarded nerds for watching a gaming award.
Man, he was the only reason that thing could still be watched, to see Doritos Pope with his fishy eyes barely containing himself was amusing. The question to Reggie: "How much money you've made? ". The one to Tell Tale Borderlands: "So, I gonna need to ask for forgiveness to the family of the guy that I got the loot from?", the sheer lack of interest when some developer shows him an iPad game, the question to the No Man's Sky developer "And you are only 4 guys and want to make this? You must don't have time to even take a bath." The only thing that made me not fully regret watching that shit was the constant butthurt face of Doritos Pope.

I dont mind butthurt jokes but I think I would be better if he put some geek humor in there instead of pretending of not giving a shit about the awards or the games.

The awards were fucking lame, but McHale was boss.
If some nerds got offended, they deserved it.

Got to laugh at how after all these expensive no-gameplay trailers, the only thing there that got to trending on Twitter was "Cranky Kong".

The worst is that Keighley used to be an excellent games journalist/reporter who wrote very in depth features, it's really sad that the appeal of money, power and fame got to his head.

Really? I always thought Gametrailers just pulled him off from the hat, because he was a good talker and loved dumbed down mainstraim games.

Yes, his in depth features of developers like Valve and Ion Storm in the late nineties were especially good, among others. He was very very young when he first got into the industry.

Hahahaha " I am joined by my dear friend Geoff Keighley, who I met for the first time 5 minutes ago. He's an ACTUAL EXPERT, so together we've got things covered..."

Dunno why, but I find it appropriate:

Geoff Keighley used to write a series called "Behind the Games" for Gamespot. They were lengthy and detailed articles covering development and interesting background info from some of the more popular games, in addition to some backstory on some of the devs themselves. Pretty good stuff compared to the things you'd see him write today.

It really brings to mind just how disgusting he's become. There's a huge difference between ignorant, unqualified, and outright stupid hacks like Jason schreier, who are incapable of understanding journalism, and Keighley, who understands fully of what the industry has turned into. He totally deserves all of the crap that he's gotten including Dorito Pope and the guy from Community tearing him a new one. The only thing that makes me feel more shameful is the fact that I used my first post to highlight some of the good he's done. :(

You guys are putting way to much into Hale's performance... he's basically just doing his character on community isn't he? Somehow I doubt Keighly is actually as taken aback as you guys seem to think... would be fun, but come on.
