Most of families' quests is work for mercenary.

Wrights:
1) Find out who was responsible for Richard Wright's overdose.
Clandestine operation.
If you finger Little Jesus, Mordinos will turn hostile, though.
2) SAD
Clandestine operation.

Salvatore
1) Track down Pretty Boy Lloyd, recover the stolen money, and make an... example of him.
Work for bounty hunter.
2)Go visit Renesco the Rocketman and collect Mr. Salvatore's tribute of $1000.
Iffy quest.
3)Help guard a secret transaction taking place in the desert.
Pre-joinment quest.

Bishop:
1) Delivering briefcase from VC.
Wasteland Fed-Ex.
2)Assassinate Westin in NCR without making it look like a murder.
Hush-hush quest.
3)Murder Carlson in NCR.
Again hush-hush.

Mordinos:
1) Deliver Big Jesus's package to Ramirez at the Stables.
Wasteland FedEx.
2)Collect tribute from the Corsican Brothers.
Iffy.
3)Assassinate Boss Salvatore for Big Jesus Mordino.
Pre-joinment.

I count only two quests that can damage your reputation as independent contractor - Renesco's and Corsican brothers' extortion. Maybe desert transaction too.
Fuck, probably it's normal for them sometimes to hire brute muscle. I don't think that families have problems with police, so relative secrecy is not needed. :M

None of the New Reno family quests have you directly harm another family

Going to salvatore's puppet renesco and asking who ordered a poisoned canister and forcing him to tell you "it was salvatore!" should make at the very least very hard to become salvatore lackey, but nope.

Renesco is not idiot. He will be very, very quiet. One word to Wrights - and Renesco is no more. But one word to Salvatore - and Renesco is another example as well.

I must agree with you.

deterministic system > RNG

RNG systems are fine assuming that appropriate random number generation parameters are determined ahead of time.

Deterministic RNG :obviously:
I too like to load save after learning that combat will always start with miss, followed by critical

In a deterministic universe, that's exactly what would happen.

No savescumming.

Edit: No not combat will always start, but that specific encounter would, if you save the exact variables and re-load them, you would have the same outcome.

In a deterministic universe there should be no critical hits or misses. Thats why chess was, is, and will always be the best tb combat system.

While we obviously live in deterministic universe we lack the capacity to make perfectly accurate predictions about real combat or pretty much any real life event. Random rolls are a good way to simulate this.

In 20 years we will live in Fallout world, mark my words.

By Putin's mortality crisis, Batman! I think this dude might actually have nailed it!

they both clearly showed the way where the cRPG design should go. They both were huge THIS WAY TO INCLINE!!! sign posts.

Both with what was best about them and about smaller mistakes they did.

Why the hell did we never follow those gargantuan signs? :negative: What is wrong with all of us?
