This is the reason numero uno why sane indie developers use simple 2D pixel graphics, especially when attempting to create complex titles - which RPGs undoubtedly are.

Although truth be told, I don't think this bunch would be able to do even that, regardless of scale and circumstances.

I'm sorry for the devs, there were some interesting ideas in there. I remember thinking "they can't afford to pay Greenwood and have 60 reviews in the first month, can they?".

Also I suspected the game had weak technical foundations that would eventually collapse, when I read a thread about each save taking 500mb (which they "fixed" to 50-100mb later). Not saying the devs are terrible, it can be that they're overwhelmed by too many tasks at the same time. A bad omen nonetheless.

Pretty much proves there's little "middle ground" for game development right now: either you're small and very lightweight, or you're big and have an experienced team and serious money to fuel it to the end.
