Uhm, I just noticed on Avellone's Linkedin that he did Systems Design for Wasteland 2.

I haven't been following closely, was this known?

No, just area design. Brother None?

Area, Narrative and Systems Design according to Avellone.

I was just surprised at system design. It's not like that has been his forte so far. (No offense @Avellone)

Is anyone a late backer like me? At the moment I'm wondering wether they process my order before the beta starts. Any experiences?

I increased my pledge a few weeks ago to get the beta. It took them a long time to process the payment (like a week or two), I sent them a message, since I was worried it hadn't gone through correctly. They told me they process them in batches and would make sure to get everyone done before the beta is released.

I upgraded from the $30 tier to the $55 tier with Paypal earlier this year, took em about 3 weeks to update my payment. I sent an enquiry after about 10 days and the dude who replied said that the programmer who handled the batching had been busy doing other work and hadn't gotten around to it.

They did say that they would run a batch right before the beta to catch any new pledges/uprades.

It'll be interesting to get feedback on the desired difficulty of combat for the default setting for Wasteland 2. WL1 = punishing.

Seems like yesterday that we finished the Wasteland 2 Kickstarter campaign and now the week of beta launch is here. #timeflies

Well then they should hurry up with their late backer batches. On second thought, if the beta would launch tomorrow and I had my key that probably would have desastrous results for my still-to-be-written papers.

If it's not out by Wednesday then Fargo will once again prove himself wrong and delusional.

I guess he could count it like that.

He could also still be delusional if it's not fit for release, as I'm expecting.

For anybody here who played this-
Is there a penalty for using short range weapons against long-range targets, and vice-versa? Or is it solely dependent on the character's skill?
