There would an option to go to Jabba's palace walk on everything flat surface, snoop in every room, stand on Jabba's head and no one would react. But steal a fruit and everyone would attack you.

You would press "E" on a slave girl and she would purr and then say "hey handsome." Then she would animate awkwardly as if to entice you in for sex, then glitch through a nearby table, sending a fruit plate flying into Jabba's head.

Don't worry, he's tagged essential.

Let's see...
The game would be set on Tatooine between the original and new trilogies for maximum movie nostalgia.
It would advertise an entire planet to explore but it would really only be 15 square miles or so.
The main capital would be Mos Eisley, again for movie nostalgia.
Level scaling Jawas and sand people everywhere.
The Hutt Cartel, the Imperial Forces, and the Rebellion would all have their own guild houses and quest chains. You would be able to join all three at the same time.
Tatooine would be full of random dungeons and monsters.
A few movie characters would show up with their original voice actors for the main plot, which would probably link to the beginning of episode 4.
There would be a space battle mechanic that was hyped to hell but would end up being horribly underwhelming and tedious after you do it once. And then space battles would feature heavily in the main quest.
Somehow there would be an arena in Mos Eisley.
Instead of magic there would be force powers because your character is a jedi for some reason.
It would have all the other flaws of Oblivion. Level scaling, retarded or just nonexistant dialog, a main quest that can be beaten at level 2, completely broken AI, the list goes on.

You forgot to mention how Bethesda fans are going to love LARPing as moisture farmers, when they're not collecting bounties on Sand People from infinitely-generated quests. :troll:

Bonus points if there's an alignment system (good vs. evil), but the game doesn't give a damn about you hunting down all the Sand People you come across.

Sand People will be basically the equivalent of undead. So no morality issues whatsoever.

And they'll blow most of their voice acting budget by having your Jedi Master who dies after the opening level be voiced by John Hurt or some other English/European actor who's notable enough to raise a few eyebrows, but not stingy enough about maintaining their image to refuse whatever paying work comes their way like most famous American actors are.

And you can always hand out bottled Calamarian water to vagrants for Goodpointz if the PC might be gravitating towards evil.

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
This thread is making me wish there was a Bethesda Star Wars game. ZeniMax should enter talks with Disney regarding one.

You know if they did basically a Mass Effect clone..... I'd probably play it... (I'm just so fucking fucking sick of fantasy).

They should finally make another Terminator game - the license is in the shitter anyway so it ought to be dirt cheap.

  • Level-scaled terminators would randomly teleport in via time travel and you'd have to fight them, and could use their parts to enchant upgrade your weapons (Brass Knuckles of Minor Lasers).
  • There would be driveable cars and car chases, but you wouldn't be able to fight while riding said cars and they could drive up 89 degree slopes.
  • You would be able to join various factions in the future, walking through Oblivion time gates to visit them. You could join the humans or the terminators, but regardless of whose side you take you end up destroying the Terminator in the end anyway.
  • To overemphasize the movie nostalgia 80's setpiece and remind you the movie was set in THE 80'S YEAH the interface will be neon pink and cyan and rendered in 240p, in homage to TV broadcasting of that era. There will even be an unskippable 10 second transition sequence every time you call up the inventory, for maximum immersion, modelled after waiting for an old CRT TV to warm up.
  • Prestigious actors from the original movie will lend their vocal talent, with Arnie of course voicing the main Terminator (as well as 4 of the other citizen voice sets in the game and Sarah Connor).
  • Arnie will also voice the LAPD, who will blow your brains out with a revolver if you pick up a newspaper on the street because the level designers accidentally marked them as owned by the city faction. This will be corrected in a patch 10 months later.

The sequel would be made by Obsidian, giving us an :incline: over the original but ending up rushed and with many rough and unfinished parts that don't work well together.

99.99% of the game is perfectly fine.

No it is not. There are way too many inconsistencies and stupidities. And whoever made the decision that you should only find a Lightsaber 1/3 into the game should be kicked in the nuts.

Still a great game though. The opening on the abandoned station was really good, dark and moody. If you don't like the opening, you will not like the rest of the game.

Also, Kreia was full of shit. And a let down of a final boss. Nihilus was also a total letdown, after being built up and hyped. Sion was a prime example of bad coding and encounter design, not to mention poor art.

Liam Neeson really is the ultimate when it comes to that:
'Hey Liam, we're making one of the greatest historical epics of all time and we need a brilliant actor - are you in?' Neeson: 'Hell yeah!'
'Hey Liam, we're making a REALLY shitty action film based on that 80s boardgame Battleship - are you in?' Neeson: 'Hell yeah!'

Fuck Star Wars.

I don't know if Bethesda still owns the Star Trek license, but at one point Feargus laughed away a Star Trek RPG.
