Probably wouldn't mind getting it for twenty bucks a year later. If nothing else, it should be a fairly fun, mindless little hiking simulator I can enjoy for a five hours or so before the flaws start becoming horribly apparent. At the very least, it's at least going to be more entertaining than Oblivion was.

Uh... right?

I'll be playing Skyrim. I am a sucker for mundane achievements to my name.

"Why hello there, take my business card. As you can see, I am a leading and distinguished member of the Fighter's Guild, the Thieves' Guild, the Mage's Guild, and other prestigious organizations. And I did it all in 10 hours and a week of playing this game."

By the way, if you minused from Daggerfall the massive size of the dungeons, the cool fighting system, and the amazing non-linear main quest (which are not small things by any means), you would still have a game where you collected mundane achievements by doing mundane tasks, like killing rats in the basement for the Fighter's Guild as a rookie. The difference is that it felt good to do all that mixture of mundane things in a very large world. It's fun....but only for 10 hours total playtime. Just like latter Elder Scrolls games. Not to troll bait, but really - what's the difference? The challenge? Don't kid me, even Daggerfall gets very easy.

EDIT: Another common similarity between my plays of Daggerfall and Oblivion was that I played both games for a week after getting them, and then never played them again. I am not some TES fanboy, but I only play these games for as long as they remain fun. What I have noticed is that the haters of Oblivion played it far more than I did - which explains itself.

Yea the poll needs this option

- Might get it if some sites I respect say good things about it

Apparently Todd H said that 90% of their audience in on the consoles now. Wow, byb bye bethesda, you made a couple of really good games.

The bestest of Bethesda's games - Fallout - passed me by, so I might as well give this one a demo. I mean, who knows, it might actually be a good game and the Codex's fears for no RPGOTY2012 are unfounded.

Moo?
Yup. I'll wring what enjoyment I can out of the base experience, and then wait awhile to see what mods start popping up.

Do not buy a game with a Russian Steam key. Publishers have started to blacklist Russian keys used out of the homeland en masse. It has already been done with Deus Ex HR and Might and Magic Heroes VI. Your account might even get suspended.

If you had asked me after Daggerfall, I'd have preordered. If you had asked me after morrowind, I'd have bought it eventually. Oblivion made it clear that what Bethesda considers fun and what I find entertaining no longer shares any common ground.

I won't buy a non-steam game with a steam DRM, but I'd like to see if it could be a decent porn hike simulator, so the option is oblivious.

BTW, Wyrmlord, Oblivion tried to get back a lot of features from Daggerfall (even level scaling were similar), but somehow it felt very different.

I still remember that I had thought the Hivemind™ was way overreacting about Fallout 3.

Then I actually played it. Jebus fucking Christmas.

Another DVD to throw over the fence...

I got the 3 dollars worth that I paid for it. Of course had to play with 100 mods to make it somewhat bearable for a while at least... :M

As for Skyrim, I'll torrent it and it will sit on the HDD until I add all the DLC's to it and then give it a go. So I won't even bother touching it for at least a year.

TBH, I may eventually pick GOTY up from bargain bin. Depends on the new scripting system and how flexible the game is in regards to modding. One of the programmers promised fundamental changes in that regard. Otherwise, I'll not remove from inventory to see the derptitude for myself.

It will, but the game might be pulled from your account at any time.

I won't buy it, but I will play it, just for shit and giggles... and also to see if the dungeon design has in any way been improved.

I was really looking forward to Oblivion back in the day, but seeing how it turned out and the shit produced since then, I have no hope for Skyrim, and will not even bother setting sail.
