Tags: Dungeon Siege: Legends of Aranna; Gas Powered GamesHands on preview of Legends of Aranna over at GameSpy, detailing much of what's been covered to death over the last few days of the pre-release hype that's been brewing for this title. Here's a taste:
Much of the adventure in Legends of Aranna involves efforts to stop the arch-villain known as the Shadow Jumper from using a powerful staff to enslave the people of Aranna. Tracking him down and defeating him will take some doing, and along the way a host of powerful bosses will stand in your way. In our beta version, defeating some of these bosses seemed a bit too easy; the developers have stressed that they're still providing play balance. The spider-like queen, who no doubt will seem somewhat inspired by The Lord of the Rings' Shelob, seemed far from boss-like, but the final game may offer a greater challenge. With multiple difficultly settings, you'll also have the opportunity to try things at a large level as well.
Every fantasy setting needs a spider queen, doesn't it?
