GameSpy has written a pretty positive review of Dungeon Siege 2. The final score is the 4/5 stars with the cons being mediocre multiplayer and the voice acting. Anyway, teh funneh:

Action-RPGs rely on two key elements: lots of monsters and lots of loot. The storylines tend to be simple, and actual role-playing elements tend to be limited to some minor interactions with NPCs and gaining levels. Fortunately, Gas Powered Games struck a good balance between the action and the role-playing of Dungeon Siege II. It's no Neverwinter Nights, but you can find lots of side quests alongside the primary storyline, and some of the quests require you to solve puzzles or riddles to complete them.
I'm not sure what they mean about it not being a Neverwinter Nights. I'm sure that this game has more side quests than NWN. It'd be hard to make the case that NWN had better side quests when they were fairly pitiful. It probably would have been better to mention Knights of the Old Republic if they wanted to name drop BioWare. Then again, that game didn't use GameSpy technology, did it?
