1Up has a little preview of Mage Knight Apocalypse, with a user hype rating of HOT!. That right there makes me wonder, because I really can't see there being a HOT! level of interest in this game. Anyway, here's a bit on levelling up:

Using your skills raises those skills and their linked attributes. There's no Elder Scrolls style meandering -- your character class defines what you can do. You can play an Amazon who follows the Way of the Jaguar and be a fast/agile melee fighter, or one who follows the Way of the Bear and be a strong/tough fighter, or just go the Way of the Eagle and be a traditional bow-user. Mix and match skill trees to suit your play style as you attach Mage Stones to one of the three available slots on all armor, weapons, and items. These let you align your items to fire, earth, wind, water, holy, or unholy energy as you adventure through the games six distinct areas, customizing them along traditional fantasy elemental combat relations.
So, um.. It's basically like Dungeon Siege 2 in terms of advancement? Interest++
