Tags: Dungeon Siege II: Broken WorldsGameSpy has finally gotten around to reviewing the expansion pack to Dungeon Siege 2. They give it a 3/5 stars and write a bit more positive things than most reviews have. Here's a bit on what's good:
One major improvement over the original is the addition of reagent recipes. In Dungeon Siege II, the developers added reagents that could be applied to enchantable armors, weapons, jewelry and spellbooks, but almost without exception, anything you had enchanted paled in comparison to anything found off creatures. Now you can discover reagent recipes -- as quest rewards, in chests and hidden alcoves, and off of monsters -- that create special enchanted magic items that are better than what can be enchanted normally. And they really are more powerful. Many of them are good enough to replace the armor and weapons you find off the monsters, and it makes the enchantment system useful for a change.Things like this always make more mundane games a little more interesting. It's a damned shame not too many people played Prince of Qin. Now there's a game with a cool crafting system.
