Tags: Sacred 2TheLostOne, who indicated he's probably not gonna be regular-news-poster-material, handed me the following post amidsts this entire "so, new newsies maybe?" inferno:
Geoff Holland at AceGamez has written a pretty long preview of Sacred 2: Fallen Angel. You can find it here.
He spends a lot of time talking about teh amazing graphix, but there are some interesting tidbits thrown in.
Adding real depth to the setting, there’s an individual storyline to follow for each of the six character classes, some of which can be played in both campaigns from two different perspectives.and
The stories and quests for the different characters, which have been constructed by a team of professional writers, will intersect at various points as you progress, and the tally of the main quests, side quests and character-specific quests is over 650 in total (and counting!)Sounds promising if there’s some quality to go with all that quantity. On the other hand,
The story revolves around T energy, which has been harnessed by the High Elves – however, they have abused it and now it’s infecting the land, mutating the native wildlife and bringing chaos to the realm.Ugh. And my favorite part,
Ascaron’s commitment to creating an expansive and open-ended gaming experience is impressive to say the least, even more so for an action RPG, with the potential to rival or even excel the mighty Oblivion.Oh my!
Despite the previewer’s questionable taste, I’m looking forward to finding out more about this game. While Sacred was a bit unpolished, it had an undeniable charm, and I’m hoping to see the creators’ vision realized more fully this time around.
And the microphone goes back to Calis: Remember, kids, if you find cool stuff online, we have a General RPG forum where you can post and discuss stuff even if you're not a newsposter! Who knows, maybe one of us almighty people with news script access will post it on the frontpage and mention you (yes, you) for great justice and eternal glory! Also, I generally make a point not to read anything on a site that has "gamezzzzz" in the domain name, but this guy's writing actually looks decent. Even if I just skimmed over it.
