The Darkness 2 Trailer

Didn't notice any threads about this through searching, so figured I'd make one.

Saw the trailer for the first time just now. I've known that The Darkness 2 was coming out for a while and having had my mind impacted by the Codex I was unreasonably pessimistic about it. The original is one of my favourite games and with the way the games story played out not much room was left for a sequel that would be anything other then a crappy reboot type thing... much like this gives the impression of. To be fair, trailers always suck, but still.

Thoughts? Anyone else like the original? Anyone like the looks of this?

Trying too hard to be EXTREME. Also, where the fuck are the darklings? But then, the makers of the first game are long gone, it's obvious this game will not be as good.

Did you know that Mike Portnoy voice acted the demon/darkness/whatever? I'd play this game just to hear his goddamn voice, you betcha I will!

you mean (the great) Mike Patton.

If it was Portnoy it would be absolute shit.

I remember playing the first one a couple of hours on a fagbox, it seemed quite good. would have liked playing it on Pc. i'm somewhat interested in this, maybe i'll try it after hearing opinions about it

Played the demo... thought... 'eh.' Might be worth a $10 purchase down the road. I like the art style but game play wise it felt like your average multiplatform FPS... with an extremely cramped FOV.

Wikipedia said:
There is more focus on the aspect of Darklings, with there now being only one primary Darkling which holds greater importance and is more involved in the storyline and who is useful in all situations; able to go to and lead Jackie to certain waypoints and show him important items during boss fights

:hmmm:

 How could I possibly mess that up, you're absolutely right! I can't even guess how I managed to type down Portnoy, since I almost hate anything Dream Theater related. Yeah, it's Mike Patton's voice. (Faith no more, Tomahawk, etc)

An annoyance and a personal point respectivly, but from watching a video fo the demo Jackie's new voice actor sounds like he is trying to hard to be tough. And where are the cool Jackie monologue loading screens!?:x

Mike Patton as good as ever as The Darkness though.

Edit: Finished watching the video, shootiness/Darkness stuff looks like it'll be sweet, might need to get the demo myself, but I am majorly butthurt about the story and characters. Jackie made sure no one (that he wasn't going to kill) fucking knew about the Darkness in the first one and people are all: "Oh yeah, sup" when he has the Darkness hanging round him. Makes no fucking sense if he's been hiding it for years, god damn it.

It is great how the Codex faps over fan service like this, compared to the PSP-licking ME3 fan service.

But on topic, he will be in the Darkness II :fap: And yes, it's coming for PC.

He was also the Angry Core in Portal, apparently.

Multiple people (read: everyone) is reporting this game is no more than six or so hours long. Doubt I'll ever be buying it unless it hits $5.

Very short and repetitive. The first one was better. Hell, they even managed to dumb the game down which is quite a feat since the first one was "just" a console shooter too. The only reason to even consider buying this is titty jiggle in the end and Mike Patton.

Mike Portonoy is a fag. They should have gotten King Diamond instead.
