I think they're taking it from this view. http://www.indiedb.com/games/top which currently puts it at #4?

Ah, okay. I only the saw the "top100" which is not yet ready according to indiedb itself.

Not sure if that list you linked to is the actual position, though.
It might use some other statistic like recent visitors.
Which would of course be similar to actual votes.

I wonder how actually relevant is the "most popular games" list to the actual votation results. At this moment, the only 2015 game that is above AoD in that list is FNAF4. Does this mean that it is the only one that is getting more votes than AoD?

Each game has a popularity listing on their page, AoD is 7 atm.

Yep, I know that. Read what I wrote.

What isn't so clear is the relevance of such position in the actual voting. If I'm not mistaken, only one (FNAF4) of the "6" games that are "more popular" than AoD is an actual competitor (i.e. it's the only indie game of all those 6 that has been released in 2015).

And also, here it says that there will be another voting process when the countdown ends, so more Codex help will be needed.
