Superficial bullshit.

It's part of the lore, fallout 1 without those things would not be a fallout, so it's nice to have them.

"My idea is to explore more of the world and more of the ethics of a post-nuclear world, not to make a better plasma gun." - Tim Cain

Kill animations and gun models are not lore. Not fucking retconning FEV to have been invented 76 different times is lore.

there are more things, the original pipboy is back, the wasteland areas look like the wasteland from f1, ive saw some weapons from fallout 1 in the trailer, caps is a currency.
it's not original pipboy, it's a reskin of fallout 4 pipboy with its garbage interface.

wtf? it is, they even named it 2000

If fallout 1 had ww2 weapons and none of the special kill animations the feeling of the game would be totaly different

Well Fallout 1 and 2 hadn't had WW II weapons.
But Fallout 76 does, the MG-42.
So your point?
Ah I forgot, you are puny funny guy.

How do you know though.

There wouldn't then be a fallout 1 that had those other things

How do you know.

Why do you give importance to these superficial items and ignore the things that truly made Fallout 1 the cult classic?

Does wearing Elvis' clothes make you Elvis? Does it now? HUHHHHH??????? Would a dating simulator be a Fallout if the waifus wore pipboys?

Because when you played Jagged Alliance you play Jagged Alliance and not thinking 'this is some nice Fallout with mercenaries and ww2 weapons'

So you're saying that if Fallout 5 had WW2 weapons and mercenaries and no vault shirts, it would be dead to you?

It would not be a fallout
Brb, paging Todd Howard with some script ideas.

Which of these things is the most important in a game being a Fallout game?

* Vault Boy
* Not having WW2 guns
* Not having Mercenaries
* Super Mutants
* Robots
* Retro-futurism misunderstood as 1950s nostalgia
* Consistent Lore

Duh!
None of this.
It has to have the word "Fallout" in it, must be made by Bethesda and Todd has to say at least three times the magic chant that is "it just works".

Out of the ones you mentioned:

vault boy
super mutants
robots (although not as much, as robots as pretty much everywhere, so fallout without robots but with those other would still be a fallout)
retro-futurism

ghouls took a pretty much important role in fallout, so fallout without ghouls would be different also

Fallout 2 showed that fallout is not at all about consistent lore, as there were plenty of crossovers and the game still remained to retain the fallout feeling,

although the china town was really pushing it, and while playing the china town parts, i was cringing very hard all the time, because it just did not feel like fallout.

You forgot to mention constantly hearing, "War, war never changes" about ten times before the game starts.

I never understood why people crap their pants over Ron Perlman saying those words as if that's going to be some kind of guarantee of quality. Is it supposed to be some kind of Pavlovian thing where we hear Perlman and start salivating?
