It's just aggressive marketing and the hype train gearing up. I have seen commentaries about how this shit may revolutionize gaming or what not, but they are dumb. There are already countless porn games, not just the more popular hentai ones. Many seem to be hung up on the claim that the game won't have DLC or other paywalls, but many indie games already do that.

The way I see it is that at worst we'll just get some wank material.
In the best case scenario we have wank material and a gameplay elements that hold on their own like in the case Rance games or Kamidori Alchemy Meister.

This game is going to be SO much better mechanically and artistically when crap being released today (except Pathfinder:Kingmaker).

How do you know? We know next to nothing about the SHMUP or the tacticool combat section, not to mention the loot or level up systems. If you listen to that interview they say that the game will be casul. It might very well be on the level of a flash title. They'll probably release some more details and a gameplay trailer soon. I could be pleasantly surprised but I'm not holding my breath.

CONGRATULATIONS, PERVERTS! YOU JUST MADE HISTORY!

For the first time ever, a western video game studio will collaborate with the elite manga artists of the east to create totally original, totally filthy stories to supplement the canon of their video game universe.

It cannot be understated what a monumental moment this is not only for us as a studio, but for deviants world-wide. We're going to make some dreams come true with this stretch goal, and Studio FOW wishes to thank you all from the bottom of our black hearts for getting us this far.

In order to reward your immense generosity, we have two reveals for you...a new waifu AND the final stretch goal!

First off...meet Sova!

Basically Thor if he were 1/3rd the size, female and a raging alcoholic, this black sheep of the teelee royal family is a pint-sized princess that spends her days competing in the deathmatch arena in hopes of becoming the grand champion. Though she is stacked shorter than her competition, Sova's unbelievable strength and decades of experience in combat makes her a fierce opponent.

You can all look forward to meeting her very soon!

And now, the FINAL stretch goal of the Subverse campaign: THE WAR CHEST!!!

Though we have all kinds of grand ideas for amazing content outside the original scope of the game, Studio FOW is still a small team in charge of an ambitious project. We are absolutely committed to making sure we deliver Subverse in all its intended glory on time and with the level of quality our fans have come to expect from us.

Our final stretch goal will help us bring you the best game possible by putting every last dollar pledged from this point forward towards polishing it. We will use the additional funds to hire more programmers, more animators and giving every last little piece of the game that extra coat of wax that will really help it shine.

Just did a quick search and find out that not only you can't choose your protagonist's gender, you can't even create you own character and have to wear a mask all time.

What a fucking waste.

I also think that people that expect some Inclined gameplay from this will be unpleasantly surprised. Gameplay will just be there so you have to spend some time in the game before you unlock your waifu and get to see anime sex scenes.

Waifus are the main draw here, don't expect much more than that.
