Just wondering what gaming platforms folk have owned over the years, and in which order they'd rate them?

Mine would be

1. PC
2. Megadrive
3. SNES/Super Famicom
4. X-Box 360
5. PS2
6. Master System
7. BBC Micro
8. PS1
9. PS4
10. N64
11. Mega CD

I'll probably add a poll when I can be arsed.

The platforms I owned personally:

1. NES/Famicon. (actually a potato clone called Pegazus domestically)
2. Commodore 64.
3. Sega Mega Drive.
4. PSX.
5. PC.
6. Sega Saturn.
7. PS2.
8. XBOX 360.

The platforms I used rather often thanks to family/friends having them:

1. Nintendo 64.
2. Amiga 1200.
3. Atari 2600 (actually a potato clone called Rambo domestically).

Edit:

Oops did not see the rating order thing.

Rating order would be:

1. PC
2. PSX
3. Sega Mega Drive
4. Commodore 64
5. NES/Famicon
6. PS2.
7. Sega Saturn.
8. Xbox 360.

Those are it really. I was a NES/SNES kid who moved on to PC around '94, but I did get an N64 for Zelda mostly. I also got a Switch as a gift but all I played on it was Zelda again.

Hand-me-down Atari (wood details, soul )
Dynavision (NES clone)
Master System
SNES
Genesis/Mega Drive
Nintendo 64
Playstation 1, 2, 3 (all used and relatively cheap after the next version's release)
Gamecube
Xbox360 and PS4 (technically not mine but still around if I wanted to play)
3DS

but I played other systems on friends and rentals, like Saturn and Neogeo and 3DO

It's hard to rate because they all had at least a bunch of good games and a lot of poopoo. I think I got more mileage out of the SNES and MD because their library is immense.

Amiga stands above every other system. It was made by the gods and it was a gift to mankind, but mankind proved that wasn't worthy enough, specially dumb Americans.

The PC stands as the best system made by humans.

The ZX spectrum library is massive and filled with great ideas and creativity. I feel like we Europeans got really lucky because we had the great 48k while Americans had to play with their shitty 2600s. No wonder their market crashes.

The DS was a fantastic system that was one of the few scapes at the time to the decline of the bigger platforms. 3 castlevanias, Contra 4, metal slug 7. And then I could go on and on.

Bought the GameCube because it was 50€ and games were ridiculously cheap at the time because the system was a failure in my country. Fell in love with Metroid prime and wind waker

I played Xbox 360 at friend's houses a lot during college, it's seemed pretty good. Consoles are mostly for split screen couch multiplayer as far as I'm concerned.

Thinking about old consoles and me being a kid playing them brings my energy down.

This is pretty much just the order in which they come to mind/most time spent on them

1. PS2 (including PS1 games, since I didn't have a PS1 on release and played all my ps1 games on a ps2)
2. N64
3. Xbox (original)
4. PS3
5. Gamecube
6. GBA SP (rating it separately from the GBA because the backlight was such a game changer)
7. Xbox 360
8. Gameboy Color
9. GBA
10. Gameboy
11. Wii
12. Sega Saturn
13. Sega Dreamcast

PC > PSP > PS2 > DS > Mega Drive > PS4 > 3DS/Vita > GBC > NES (was a clone).

PSP is one of my favorite platforms. Had a healthy variety of genres to chosen from, unlike the DS, doubled as a PS1 and, if hacked, was a swiss knife emulator machine -- all in the palms of your hands. Best portable gaming device I've ever owned, fantastic tech for 2004. Sony was at the top of their game back then.

PS4 was bought second hand for Bloodborne and an assortment of Japanese games unavailable on PC at the time. Having skipped the PS360 gen, I wasn't aware consoles had been turned into compact PCs -- the insert-disc-and-play experience was long gone. Have entertained the idea of selling it a number of times but probably gonna keep it around for BB, games with aggressive DRM on PC and streaming. May get better once thoroughly hacked.

Vita/3DS - piss poor successors to the PSP/DS. Vita had decent hardware but Sony turned it into a sacrificial lamb in order to save the giant POS that was the PS3, moreover its library was ported to almost all modern systems. 3DS had a so-so library and terrible hardware; you're better off playing on Citra. Smartphones were sadly a thing too.

The moment I got my C64, my NES went in the closet.
The moment I got my first PC, all consoles from then on were just toys to provide mindless entertainment when I wanted to veg out.

Not much love for Sega Saturn... I always thought it had some great games. Panzer Dragoon was a blast!
