Funny, all mine look like whores that run around engaging in lesbian sex when they're not getting porked by their professors for better grades.

The black haired sim is mine, too. I just made that. The shirt's mine as well. I managed to get the velvety texture down pat.

I can imagine Ex licking his lips as the types "velvety texture".

I still think something leathery or latex would be more fitting for Sims clothing that advertises this site.

Fez, you got The Sims 2?

Yeah, it's pretty good fun - when someone isn't borrowing it off me! I guess that shows it's got something. :D

I loved "Little Computer People" on the C64, so Sims 2 is like revisiting LCP again, and my rose-tinted glasses are not leading me astray. The player-made content is always a good bonus with this kind of game and can end up better than a lot of the original parts (like Morrowind to some extent).

Found a couple of screenshots of LCP, for those who missed it:

It was hypnotic to watch, like a fireplace or a fishtank.

Yeah, I'm pretty happy with University. It's what an expansion pack should be. Let's hope all the following expansion packs follow suit.

And I'm totally understanding you about the lesbian sex thing, Saint. All my Sims guys don't get none. :(

Let's hope the expansions don't break the game, forcing you into buying the next mediocre pack.

It's pretty good. The first time I made it through college with a group of people, I was just thinking MAN! I DON'T WANT TO DO THAT AGAIN!.. But they have a nice carrot attached to going through college in the game. If you complete college, your sim will have six wants instead of the four wants and you can lock two of them instead of just one. That means you can get those aspiration rewards much quicker.

It adds a bunch of cool things to the game as well. With the new pool table, I'm able to manage dealing with a teenage sim in the household. I get them to play a bit of pool when they get home from class to get their FUN up, then they do homework with none of that "I'm not in the mood" crap.

Cell phones can be nice, but it also means that if your sim is used to going to bed early so they can do a bunch of stuff before school or work, they may get that odd call at 10pm that wakes them up.

There's an influence meter now as well. It fills up as you get certain aspiration rewards and you can use it to "command" other sims to do something - like clean up a spill and other things.

Teens can get additional money when they get to college if they get scholarships, which actually somewhat encourages you to play a teenager every so often. If they have a skill that's eight or higher, they get like $750 per skill that's over 8. They can get $1,500 if their parents are dead or if they've been abducted by aliens or if they're a zombie. They get $1000 for having an A- or better GPA in high school.

Here's a list of scholarships, which is more for my personal info, but I figure what the hell:

  • Hogan Award for Athletics -- Level 8 or higher Body Skill -- s750
Bain-Gordon Communications Fellowship Level 8 or higher Charisma Skill
    -- s750
Kim Metro Prize for Hygenics -- Level 8 or higher Cleaning Skill --
    s750
London Culinary Arts Scholarship -- Level 8 or higher Cooking Skill --
    s750
Will Wright Genius Grant -- Level 8 or higher Logic Skill -- s750
Bui Engineering Award -- Level 8 or higher Mechanical Skill -- s750
Quigley Visual Arts Grant -- Level 8 or higher Creative Skill -- s750
    SimCity Scholar's Grant -- A- or better in high school -- s1,000
Extraterrestrial Reparations Grant -- Abducted by aliens -- s1,500
Young Entrepreneurs Award -- Level 3 in teen career -- s750
Undead Educational Scholarship -- Teen is a Zombie -- s1,500
    Phelps-Wilsonoff Billiards Prize -- Level 8 Pool Skill -- s1,000
Tsang Footwork Award -- Level 8 Dancing Skill -- s1,000
Orphaned Sims Assistance Fund -- Sim has no living parents -- s1,500

Oh, and here's something cool if you want to make a dorm:

  • The Dorm Cheat: Editing and building Dorms.

    To build one from scratch
Build a dorm on any empty lot.
    Then enter this cheat code.
    changlot-zoning dorm
    Save the lot and exit.

    To Edit a dorm
    boolprop dormspecific-toolsdisabled false

    Dorms building rules:
    lockable door facing out.
Dorm rooms should only have one door.
Do not change the zoning of the lot after moving a sim in.

    The Dorm must have:
    ShinyTyme Cooktop
    Counter islands
Dishwasher or sink in the same room as ST Cooktop.
    Garbage can
    lights
    Phone
    Sprinkler

There's some handy info for everyone.

I'm just afraid Exitium is going to end up making a mod called Sims 2: Sorority Rape.

He's already started on it. Sounds like someone on Ex's dev team leaked some information.

I might have a go at making some textures for it sometime.

Oh, and thanks for the info, Saint. I haven't messed too much with the expansion yet. I have all sorts of editing tricks for making houses that I like to share with others though, so I appreciate when others do the same. You can do some really awesome landscaping with the moveobjects cheat.

Big talk for someone that advocates NPC romances in CRPGs.

"Big talk for someone that advocates NPC romances in CRPGs."

Anyone who is anti NPC romance in RPGs is NOT a hardcore RPG fan. Period.

Why force it in if it doesn't fit?
